Holy Finishing Touches Batman, it's Sapphire 1.0

Hey Yank,

What kernal are you using and are you using Set Cpu, if so what settings or profiles? Thanks man.

I'm using the one cvpcs included and I haven't enabled setcpu in this build. I wanted to see what kind of battery life/performance I'd get with his stock settings. So far...PHENOMENAL!

okay, good to know. How did you set it up?? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean? I haven't touched it from what cvpcs set natively. I think by default he's got a 125/1000 kernel going on. I let Sapphire take care of setting the CPU speed. I haven't even run setcpu yet to give it privs, let alone set any profiles. I did turn on compcache but I have NO idea how that affects battery life if at all. So far I've been incredibly impressed with this rom release. I still need to back it up. Been waiting to see if anything else needs to be changed/set/tweaked. So far, I'm very happy.

Okay, I meant, I believe you can tweak the settings in the native app also. I downloaded the 800 lv kernal. I'm not running Set CPU either, just checking to see what others are doing.

After a full day of running this ROM I am very pleased. Took my phone off the charger this morning at 6:30 and after a full day of moderate to heavy usage I was at 30% battery at 5:30. No force-closes, no hiccups and super snappy!!
GREAT WORK GUYS!

I downloaded via RM and I think I picked the 1000 LV kernel. Using SetCPU but I don't have any profile set, never have.

K, thanks. Just asking around on what others are doing on settings.

Oh, yea, no I haven't changed anything that's set by default. Performance and battery life have been exceptional. I don't see any need to run setcpu at all. It's just another process running in the background, you know? I'm not unhappy about buying it but I don't currently NEED it which is great.

I know what you mean. I am trying to get the best battery life I can. However, I have 2 exchange accts, run bluetooth, gmail, and pretty heavy user. I have suspected my battery is less than prime anymore. I know that people say heavy usuage, but you know that is selective. I have been very happy with this ROM also. I used to use Juice Defender to help my battery life, but it seems to make your phone a little unresponsive when you turn the screen back on, that's when it is turning everything back on.

I've got bluetooth, wifi, exchange/msn/gmail, power/weather/facebook/music/calendar/market/pandora/slacker/titanium backup widgets going at all times. :D And when I'm in the office (I generally work from home but tend to go into our office 1 or 2 days per week) I use USB tethering. Plus when I'm in my car I have it connected to the bluetooth speakerphone/fm transmitter and using navigation but I have it connected to power. I wouldn't be caught dead without my droid near by. :)

Holy Batteries, Batman. I wish I could get that kind of life. Maybe my battery is just getting shot.

I wasn't getting that kind of life at ALL until last night when I installed Sapphire 1.0. I was getting down to 15-20% REALLY quick (like 3-4 hours MAX) before installing this rom. Now I've literally been off the charger all day and I've still got 50%. That's just amazing. I haven't been using it a lot today but still, even idling it'd drain the thing within a few hours pre-Sapphire 1.0. As I said, I couldn't be happier right now (well, unless I had a Droid X running some gem type rom :D).

I will see how it runs tomorrow, maybe I will reload and run the kernal that comes with it stock and see from there. They are def on to something great here and I love everything about Saphire. Thanks for the discussion. :)

I recommend a backup before changing stuff too much. :) Good luck!

Absolutely, had my share of lessons on that issue. I actually have all the major roms updated with the theme I like, Black Glass, and stored as backups on my sd card.

I have a few myself, but, Sapphire is the one I keep coming back to. It's by far my favorite rom. And this latest version just excels. I need to backup and start looking at a couple themes. I want to try the DroidX theme.

I like the looks of the Droid X theme also. But, I don't think it is as thorough of a theme as Black Glass, he does such a great job with black glass. I don't think there are many themes out there that can compete with how much he actually themes. I actually have been running Black Glass with DroidX themed ADW and I like how that seems to look.

ok love the rom

however having big issues it keeps bootlooping even when its at the home screen just reboots at will whats up with this?

Should not be doing that. Never had Sapphire bootloop. I would start with a clean install wipe data/cache. Maybe your download was bad.
