Holy Finishing Touches Batman, it's Sapphire 1.0

tried to flash last night and had nothing but problems. the closest I got to finished was google sign in with my gmail account. as soon as I hit the driod the phone locked up and the blue sapphire bootloader came up. I tried several variations of install. I had the best luck with SPRecovery but when I would rename the gapps zip to update for install, lockup city. So what's the best way to use sprecovery with multiple update zips? or should i flash back to an older CWM recovery and try to re install. all you guys outside playing and I'm stuck inside doing homework... Please help. I almost saw the top of the mountain, then fail.

other info.
BB v0.4
All downloads were from web to laptop and usb to phone
Stock or recommended kernel was selected
black bar theme
mediastage selected
followed the order of operations
several wipes of data and cache

Thanks again

After you installed the ROM did you move or rename that update.zip file so that you didn't have two update.zip files on your SD card?

Still wondering though why my fonts are stock and not like the GALA S screenshots...

!

can someone please tell many of us -- how do we add the fonts that belong to the themes??? and the icons for the web and phone near the main menu button , i want mine to look exactly like the ones on the screen shot.. plz help

The theme creator already answered the font part of the question in another thread. The fonts from the screen caps are from the incognito theme. If you download that zip file, you can copy the fonts from the /fonts folder into the /fonts folder in another theme zip file and then update.

The icons for the web and phone appear if you use switchapk to use the ADW launcher.
In terminal:
su
switchapk launcher adw

Downloaded and installed and so far It's very fast. One question, is there anyway to change the bootanimation. I think it's kinda cartoony.

Thanks
Joe

U can change any bootanimation for any Rom. Just download the one you want, make sure it's named bootanimation.zip, push to system/media or data/local, reboot, done

Works for Android, not Rom specific

That was one of my questions... I have the main file as update and apps as downloaded. I can't make them both update.zip. how can I rename the other files update.zip in cwm without reboot or pulling card and going to pc?

I did try cwm .13 and still no go. I did the update from sd card and not update.zip. bootload was stuck cycling for greater than ten minutes. Going offline to reboot.

Thanks for the help

Delete the old update.zip and rename new one

U did it wrong then. What were the steps you took?

I went into RootExplorer and copied my bootanimation.zip to system/media and rebooted and it still used the Saphire bootnimation. I then did the same thing and copied to data/local and still got Saphire bootanimation.

Wow, i've done those exact steps more times then I can count and it has worked every time. I'm running the Green Droid X animation now.

Try a new animation? it's named bootanimation.zip not .zip.zip right? check on your pc

Did you make /system RW instead of RO in root explorer?? Cause I JUST got done replacing mine with the DroidX animation. (Hey, I'm using the DroidX theme so... :D)

Connect your phone to your computer via USB.
In sprecovery, choose "mount options", then select "enable USB mass storage"
You will see your sd card contents on your computer's file explorer - now you can rename the files you need.
Eject the phone from the computer.
Select "disable USB mass storage" in sprecovery
Install the update.zip
Profit

GEM settings Force Close

Installed this last night. When I hit the Gem settings link in the settings menu, settings fc's. I updated to the alternate dark theme this morning, same thing (no surprise since it's just a theme update). Anyone else having this issue? Any thoughts?

Did you wipe data+cache before install?

Yes, I did make /system RW and copied the bootanimation.zip (different from the first one I tried) and I still get Saphire bootanimation.

I.....have NO IDEA then. I just literally did it a little while ago and I'm getting the Droid X animation now. I wish I knew what to tell you.
