Holy Finishing Touches Batman, it's Sapphire 1.0

Themes are just changed images. Maybe a few xmls edited. So they really can't use more resources...

I've used rmapk to get rid of carhome, chrome, vvm, and tips, since none of those really seem likely to be integral enough that they would cause instability if removed.

Unless I've missed it, there doesn't seem to be a discussion about which apps might cause instability if removed. For instance, I never use the stock browser, mms, or email, but I'm a little hesitant to rmapk them since they seem more integral to the system. Has anyone who's removed any of those apps (or any others) regretted doing so for instability reasons?

I removed email and browser without any instability. Is mms the stock messenger client?

how does this run and what does it offer in compared to UD 6? I heard UD7 is coming soon so I decided to try another rom before that comes out. This appealed to me the most. Does it run fast/well?

made the switch and loving it. Very nice rom, runs great and I no longer seem to have the 3G issued I had with UD. I may check UD7 out when it comes out but I love Sapphire with Droid X theme!

edit: FINALLY was able to get Wireless Tether working on this rom. I may not go back to UD, this rom runs so smoothly and is doing everything I want it to!

Where do you get the htc sense widget and dock?

Yep, mms is the stock messenger client. But the helpful link below indicates it's probably not a good idea to get rid of it. With the browser removed, are you able to use a third-party web browser? The link below makes it sound like you might not be able to after removing the stock browser.

Thanks! Very useful.

i just want to say i am loving sapphire! thanks to the great devs that made it happen. i love everything about this rom except the kernel that comes with it. it will not connect with my work wifi. i am currently using chevyno1's kernel and it connects fine. however he does not have compcache enabled. i hope you guys can get together and find out why his kernel works and not sapphires. other than that great work!

Running the gala theme and the only issue I have is that anytime I listen to music and I unplug my headphones or unplug from an aux jack the stock music player starts up. I use mixzing so it is really annoying to shut my music off and then have the stock music player start up. Any ideas how to fix this? Other than that the rom runs great!

sent from the great depths of my phones internet (thanks Al Gore)

Did you try another kernel from the list to see if they worked? releases:sapphire-1.0.0 [CVPCS Sapphire Wiki]
Hope you made a bug report. releases:sapphire-1.0.0 [CVPCS Sapphire Wiki]

i didnt think trying another kernel with a different clock would help since they are all probably using the same exact drivers.

Hey all. I switched from UD to this just a few days ago. Running the Alternate Dark theme. Overall it's great. Before, no other ROM seemed to run as fast for me like UD does, except for now. Just a question though. When I was on UD, I remember having User Agent on the native browser as well as being able to turn off the zoom controls that are on the screen. I don't see either one of those now that I switched to Sapphire. Am I missing something? I really don't want to use Dolphin anymore since it seems to really heat up the phone after very little use. And it just seems slower.
