Holy Finishing Touches Batman, it's Sapphire 1.0

Agreed, I flashed straight over the old droid x theme and it is fantastic. I am completely content with this setup right now, I don't see a reason to flash again until the next Sapphire release.

I removed email and browser without any instability. Is mms the stock messenger client?

Yep, mms is the stock messenger client. But the helpful link below indicates it's probably not a good idea to get rid of it. With the browser removed, are you able to use a third-party web browser? The link below makes it sound like you might not be able to after removing the stock browser.

Barebones - CyanogenMod Wiki

That link will give you a list of what's safe to remove.

Thanks! Very useful.

I had Dolphin HD installed before I removed Browser, so I haven't noticed any issues browsing the web after removing Browser. Not sure what the result would be if you removed Browser and then tried to install another browser through Market.

I will say that the phone definitely feels more fluid with all those apps removed. Its also amusing to watch my stock Droid friends borrow mine briefly when they cannot find any apps. dancedroid
I'll check out the link.

Thanks for the response, I gave it a shot. I had one problem that you didn't have -- getting rid of the browser also got rid of the system bookmarks, which wouldn't be a problem for most people, but is for me.

Why this might be a problem for some -- I've basically been using nothing but xScope for a while now, but I do a lot of my navigation either by opening the browser directly from a FolderOrganizer bookmark, or by typing in the name of a system bookmark I want to go to (I've never been super-thrilled with xScope bookmark management), but I couldn't do either after rmapking the stock browser.

I'm way too used browsing this way to have to depend exclusively on xScope's bookmarks, so I restored a backup ROM to get the browser back (Titanium Backup didn't really back it up like I thought it would have). Aside from the bookmark problem, I didn't see any problems, either.

Are OTA notifications disabled on this ROM? I haven't had one yet, and I would rather not have that issue of the update continually downloading in the background.

You need to accept the OTA and the when it tries to install Sprecovery will block it. I did that this morning. I've read that Clockword blocks it too. Then you will get no more notifications.

But I will get the notification? I was on BB when 2.1 rolled out and the otacerts.zip file had been modified to disable notifications. Just curious if it has been changed here.

Hey sapphires dev guys...question: i was playing with the droid 2 and notice the dial on it can be horizontal. And you are able to type in horizontal aka landscape mode with the physical kb. There was a small dial pad on the left and search on the right. Can this be ported?

edit: also i have icons of my apps on my droid desktop of apps i moved to the sd but everytime i reboot the phone the original icons dont reappear just a green droid. =/ is this a bug? or is this a apps2sd bug?
