How to correctly unroot the Incredible

Check the build number. As long as its 3.26 you'll get the updates if there ever is one.

Similiar Issues:

I'm reading through this forum and finding that I am having some similiar issues but I am haaving a really rough time diagnosing for one solution. I rooted my phone 2 days ago w/ unrevoked but I wasn't able to access user permissions. I unrooted via PB31IMG.zip file and it was successful.

I now have two issues that concern me:

1.) I am on 2.1 and I'd like to be running 2.2. I get updates through Market, etc. but haven't recieved the OTA update for 2.2. Solution?

2.) Does having S-OFF effect me getting the OTA upate for 2.2?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Man, what i did was:
I downloaded the (latest) 2.2 software than i renamed to (PB31IMG) than i installed it in the memory card, than turn off the phone, than press volume down and power button at same time, than the phone finds the file, than you press to install it!
In case you need the Software give me your email address so i can email it to you! I hope everything goes fine for you! Let me know if you need more info about what i have done with my phone!

Jdshort,

You used he wrong PB31IMG. You used one for the OS version 2.1. Then one in the OP of this thread is the newest version straight from HTC/Verizon. You can trust it. That is if you trust me. :)

So u were in my situation and that's what u did and had no issues installing the software? Is the software credible and legitimate? My email is [email protected].

Thank you!

Oh I completely trust you. I've seen your website and I believe everything is credible. As long as having s-off doesn't effect me flaming the 2.2 then let's do it! Were can I find hybrid correct zip?

Ok so I've been at work all day and am just now getting around to downloading the correct PB31IMG from the OP. First download says there was an error in the file transfer. Going to download a second time.

Ok- So I downloaded it a second time and I am still getting this file that doesn't look like a zip file. Of course, I'm using Windows XP because thats whats on my work comp. I'll probably just wait and download on Win7.. there error message I get when I download on XP is: Start of Central directory not found; Zip file corrupt. Possible cause: File transfer error.

Stop trying to unzip it. Just rename and move to SD card.
