[HOW TO] Install the leaked Android 4.0.4 ICS build on the Droid 4 (XT894)

What leak are you trying to install?

You previously mentioned an 18meg update that you downloaded, that is not the leak. If you flashed 219 then there are no new updates for GB for you to install.

Let's start over. I know this is my fault and I appreciate all your help.

But seriously-- when I first did the 219 I checked for updates and there was a system update.

I'll ignore that this time and just follow the directions.

219 is the latest update, 215 was the original version of GB that the D4 came with.

When i fastboot i got to 215. It updates to 219. I followed every step to the letter.

It still doesnt play nice.

I tried the 212 and 213.

Even tried the rom manager version.

Argh...

So you weren't following the instructions. The first thing it says is to fastboot 219, I don't know why you tried to fastboot 215. We would like to help but you're not doing it according to the instructions.

Can you please do EXACTLY as the instructions say and if you run into a problem let us know.

So i downloaded the first which was 215.

The other guy said he followed the instructions exactly and later we found out he was not. Can you give us an exact rundown of what you've done so we can figure out the problem. We need details to figure out the problem.

Im getting E:failed to verify whole-file signature and then E: signature verification error

Did it first with it rooted then attempted again unrooted.
Same thing both times

I hate to barge into the middle of a conversation, but I need an explanation also. I just tried to install the latest ICS update in safemode and found myself with a grey-screen brick. The installation didn't really even begin and came up with a (status 6) error. I was easily able to switch back to non-safe mode and restore my previous settings so no harm done, but I would much like to be able to conquer this mystery and flash roms as I please.
