Every time I got that exact error, it was because one of my files was corrupt. There's only one kind of error you should be getting when you're flashing .219 and it happens 5x. Can you confirm that?
Also, if your battery dies and you can only get to bootloader, it won't charge. You'll have to get a programmer charger. Those chargers are different than the normal ones.
Or, do what I did if you have a spare charger. I don't recommend it, but it worked for me. It involves splicing up the charger and running the red and black wires directly to the battery terminals - like jumping a car.
Ok so it looks like I will need to use your method. Where can I get a programmer charger? I could try your charging method, where are the battery terminals?
Ok so I see the terminals. I ripped open a cord I had but it only has red and white, will this work? You can buy one online or build your own if you're feeling particularly crafty. You basically just jump pins/wires #1 and #4 on the USB cord. The problem is that most chargers come with pin 4 not wired to anything. You need to find a cord that has all 5 pins connected to wires to the other end.
I had no luck finding such a thing so I took a USB charger and cut it off. You'll find four wires - red, black, white, and green. White and green are data wires and red is positive, black is ground (negative).
This is a good image of it: http://i49.servimg.com/u/f49/14/59/59/58/droid411.jpg
The screw he's loosening is connected to the positive terminal on the battery. The other one is negative. I just stripped a tiny piece off the end of the red wire (positive) that I cut off the USB cord and twisted them so they made a nice solid piece. I then wrapped that solid piece around the screw and screwed it back into the phone. I did the same for the positive wire/screw/terminal. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T LET THEM CROSS AT ALL!
I also wouldn't recommend you leave it too long. There's clearly no safeguarding against overcharging it this way. After about half an hour, I was able to turn the phone on and connect the phone to my PC using a second charger. I left the wires on the battery terminals while I performed the flashing.
Be very careful with this method though. It's very much a last resort.
This is what my doctored up USB charger looked like. I basically jumped my phone like you jump a car.

The short wire is positive, the long one is negative. I did this on purpose so I had more room to mess with the long one once I screwed the short one to the terminal.
Edit:
This might prove useful if you want to know how to get to the terminals:

I'm not sure what kind of charger you have that only has a red and white but if it only has two, odds are, the red is + and the white is -.
This cord wouldn't be able to transfer data though. It would just supply juice to the battery.
Its a wall charger, so it wouldnt have data. Im having difficulties with the screws though, nothing small enough.
The stock verizon charger is just a USB cord plugged into a wall charging adapter. If you're using that, it should have all four.
You need a small screwdriver, like the kind you use to fix eyeglasses. I found mine at 7-11 in a cheap glasses repair kit.
I might be able to find one, but I think I'm gonna order a factory USB cable before I break my phone more. I found one on ebay that is in Hong Kong, so looks like I might be without a phone for awhile.
okay, i don't have to flash the first leak? i could just go and flashed the latest leak(.213)You can flash any of the leaks. They've all been good, I haven't heard problems about any of them. 213 is the latest build.
