HTC Droid Incredible Retires? Incredible HD Taking Over?

ok, i don't see the 4g. the pic isn't good, but i can plainly see the 3g. Why would a phone have a 3g and a 4g visible at the same time. maybe i'm reaching here but it makes no sense to me...????

Well since my hopes, that have been building up for months, are now utterly dashed i'm left with the decision of what smartphone to kick off my humble smart phone beginnings with.

I'm thinking it's down to the DX or the D2 Global (since i heard the redesign has that nice 1.2 GHz processor and clickier buttons than the original).

The only deterrent on the D2 Global is the slightly smaller screen compared to that of the DX. Any thoughts? my hopes were with this Dinc HD but...yeah... :icon_ nono2:

Just switched from the DX to the D2G in white. The 1.2Ghz processor is nice! My phone consistently benchmarks at ~1610 right out of the box, no root, no custom roms. I had the original D2 and I'd say this upgrade puts it just slight above the DX in my opinion (i'm a fan of the physical keyboard). The size difference is acceptable for me because it's a little easier to hold in one hand and feels more like a phone rather than a tablet. But don't get me wrong, I LOVE my DX

I was hoping someone finally piped up who has a D2 Global! glad to hear your input on it, i was hoping that beefy processor would make a decent difference. i'd like to get my hands on one at a verizon store before i buy one though!

Do u guys really think that at the busiest shopping time of year htc would wait until january to release a phone instead of nov/dec? They are to smart to do something like that.The 3g version does exist and it will be out way before christmas.Thats what i keep telling myself anyway.lol

IF the Iphone hits in January MIGHT they not want to have something lined up along the lines of an LTE superphone that will be release AFTER the Iphone? i know I wouldnt want to "shoot my wad" so to speak right now with an impending Iphone launch and have nothing lined up to keep the android faithful with yearly upgrades that weren't satisfied with the winter line-up from switching over.

I see your point but good companies are pro-active not re-active.

Centered above the wifi widget, where it usually says 3G, it's really blurry but it looks a little sharper like it could be a 4 instead of a 3 (what's up with the pic? is that a 1/8 MP camera?

Yeah, i was considering buying a phone without contract and having it activated so i could use my upgrade on this HTC Mecha or whatever it turns out to be in January.

Problem is, Incredibles go for around $300ish on ebay and i'm not doin that. Might just pick up a DX on contract. Still tossing it around in my mind. I'm not sure i can go without a smartphone much longer though. I may wait until Black Friday, just in case there's any other devices about to sneak out of the gates for the holiday season... *fingers crossed*

Anyone know about any other devices that may be released that could be worth waiting for????

my sentiments exactly. upgrade now, 3 days after my return capabilities expire, some amazing new device is released. verdict: hosed again...bummer

Too bad about the DIncHD, now it's either sprint or t-mob for me I guess, unless something crazy comes out before holidays. I am not waiting until jan (pushed to feb then maybe march, april...) for a phone that I really have no real info on and will not be a game changer by then anyway. Lucky for me in my area VZW/sprint/att/t-mobile all have about the same service area so I can go anywhere and not miss a beat. The prices of sprint and t-mobile are looking good and the evo on sprint may be my next phone. I am not settling for a DX, DInc, or Fascinate for various reasons and don't like the D2 or DPro. Unfortunately for me I want 4.3" screen in the HTC form factor not the moto 16:9.

On a side note IMO if Verizon gets the iphone in Q1 2011 then I'd say they are off the forefront of android handsets until at least a few months after the iphone hits. Yes they will have new LTE units but not Android flagship devices like the droid was or even to a lessor degree the DInc or DX. I look for ATT to lead in android 1st half of 2011. I venture to guess that VZW will want to ride the iphone for a while and to be honest why not. They used android when they needed it but if they get the iphone they won't have to buddy up to google or moto and they can go back to the locked down VZW we all know and loathed in the past lol... Hmmm now this makes me remember VZW saying how they were going to open up to all approved handsets in 2010, 2010 is almost over and well VZW went right on being the same ol' VZW... at least they are consistent...
