So it would seem we have different release dates for different locations from all these speculations and Verizon insiders

I hope this doesn't make the phone super thick, as an extended battery will likely be pretty important unless you want to charge 2-3 times per day for average-high use ("light" users should be decent with stock battery), and that they will make snap on cases that fit with the extended battery inserted. Has anyone had experience with the Incredible or EVO extended batteries and cases? Can you give any input?
So as far as release dates, we've got one guy saying 2/10 ("simultaneous with iphone release"), another saying 2/17 ("7 days after iphone"), another saying 2/24 ("last week of February"), and yet another saying it could be as late as 3/17 ("St. Patrick's Day"). All claim to have "inside" information from friends or contacts that work for Verizon, or claim to work for Verizon themselves. My head hurts now, too many explanations, but I guess anything is possible. I'm going with 3/3, that is at least until another leak changes my mind yet again. Who is going to be the "winner" who calls it?

He originally quoted St. Patrick's Day (2/17) in a poem last week. So maybe a week or two sooner, with a software update after a week to fix minor issues. Sounds like they really want to push this phone out asap.

I've been keeping a close eye on this thread and I know for a while, HTC claimed that TB would be first to LTE... and then it switched it's story to "one of the first".
But NOW VZW's "LTE" page has been updated:
4G LTE Network | Verizon Wireless
And TB is, indeed, going to be the first LTE phone. Which makes complete sense with this last tweet from a previously reputable source (the mobile panda) that says that the date has been pushed up.
I'm going to drop kick my storm any day now so I'm hopeful it'll be sooner rather than later.

So, this thought just occurred to me. Im getting SO sick of my Eris to the point I wanna throw it across the room most times. I found a deal on Craigslist I may jump on, An original Droid 1 for $80. I could buy the Droid for $80 and handle having that til the Thunderbolt is released and than use the VZW Trade-In deal to get $132 to go toward the purchase of the TB. My question is this. Does anyone on here that frequently posts on this thread still have the D1? And if so, is it still a good phone(good enough to get through til March or whenever the TB gets released)? Im just wondering if I should jump on this deal or not. Would anyone else do this if you had the chance?

I think it is highly likely that the Moto Xoom tablet and the HTC ThunderBolt will be released on the same day, and I have heard this from other sources as well. They are listed together in this MAP announcement (which just means that they are subject to a minimum advertised price, so one retailer cannot undercut another one to get more sales). Apparently, Verizon has confirmed the Xoom for February release (just not the exact date yet). So things are looking brighter for a pre-March release. Not sure about 2/14 though, I would think it would either be the same day as iPhone (if it was going to be released near it at all), or at least 2-4 weeks after it (to avoid many returns of iPhone by people who would decide to exchange it for a TB instead to have 4G/LTE).

I have a D1 and I suggest that you buy the D1, root it, and put Cyanogenmod on it. That should last you for a while. I also suggest you try out the Zeam launcher-- it's fast and full of features.

I hope it comes out in early february so I can cancel my droid 2 global before my 30 days is up(I signed up jan 7th, sick of att) and resign with the thunderbolt.
Its 14 not 30 days anymore.

just got off the phone with my guy and he is giving me a pretty exact date! he is tellin me march 3rd or march 10th! but he does not know if thats preorders or the actual release but he seemed to be leaning to the pre order side of the conversation... and he is usually right on and has been on the last couple release date.. and if not. he is pretty darn close within a week!!!
