I was under the impression that the Thunderbolt shot 720p video. I was wrong. I guess now that it's finally here I'm going to have to wait for the Bionic.

What? Everything I have seen on dozens of review/spec sites, including demos from VZW reps at conferences said it does shoot 720p video, and supports playback of 1080p.

I just hope they figure out how to get permanent root by the time we get it. The one xda tried were on test devices with the S -off. Lets see what they come up with. I am pulling for them :D.

In the specifications on Best Buy's website, they list the video resolution at 720x480. 720p is 1280x720.

Infinite possibilities. With an8MP camera, LED flash, in-camera effects and a 720p HD camcorder, you can capture every moment in picture-perfect resolution. And with 4G uploads, you can unleash it instantly, for all your friends to see.

Glad to be proven wrong. Best Buy's site needs to be updated.

Yea, BB does not have a good track record for accuracy in online specs. I'd believe HTC over BB's online specs any day of the week and twice on release day :-)

I guess at this point I am less interested in the actual release date and more interested in the 4G pricing.

Agreed, I'll be pretty bummed out if after waiting this long to get a TB as my first smartphone I end up going back to something like the X because of absurd 4G pricing.

still no announcement from big red. Im calling it. The 24th will be release date!! Despite all the evidence arguing for a green launch day with the irish, one must remember, pessimism rules with regards to the blunderbolt's coveted release date announcement.

Its going to happen.. 17th.. its got to.. if not I will .. well do nothing.. just wait longer..

I am hoping we do not have to put you guys on suicide watch if it does not happen on the 17th!!!:)

I really think 17th will be the day for you guys from what I have been reading..

I see that it's going to have a mobile hotspot for wireless tethering. Will there be a fee associated with that, or is it only free if you root like with the original Droid?
