Got my like new piece of crap it came and i saw that a wire was sticking out of the side of the phone i think it was the antenna and the slide up front piece was loose and the touchscreen didn't work this suck so i called and told them I'm sending it right back to them. again told me they are shipping me another one. hopefully this one is better.

oofey:Got my D2 today after 6 refurb D1s that were not up to snuff - various things (couple had repeated lock ups, couple wouldn't charge battery, one had a camera lens that wasn't fully seated and a small scratch on the top edge, last one dropped calls and screen jittered up and down when plugged in and scrolling on a screen.
Definitely not new or even like-new devices...QA on VZW/Moto side seems troubled.
I got a new D2 in a refurb box, chassis only, and battery cover and battery are coming in a separate shipment. Mine was not a surprise D2 that just showed up when I was waiting for a refurb, I had to talk to a couple supervisors to get them to send me a D2 after all my trouble w/D1 refurbs.
D2 seems good so far overall...mostly find things better overall than D1 - only thing I'm missing is running a custom ROM. Never OC'd over 1Ghz on my D1, so speed will be fine if they don't unlock the boot loader for custom kernels.

did u specifically request the D2 or did they offer it to you?
Specifically requested it, but the interesting part is after the third refurb an agent offered (w/out me asking) to send me a new D2. I said great, she put the order in, but called back and told me the order was cancelled by her supervisor.
What started making me a little crazy was when folks started posting here and in other forums about getting a D2 replacement for their D1 by surprise...just showed up. VZW tells me they can't send me a D2 after many bad refurbs, but they are sending them out to other people w/out them even asking or having significant problems like I was.
Then three more refurbs later I worked my way up to a supervisor and got the D2 sent...it was a painful process, and had me looking into cancelling my verizon account for the first time ever, but they came through in the end, so I'm happy about that.
So polite persistence worked for me...but it was not VZW's finest hour.

Wow...I just called Verizon to see if my replacement was being shipped. I talked to somebody on wednesday who said that it would be shipped by Friday..Since it didn't come i called and it turns out they never sent out a replacement...I have to wait till next week to recieve my replacement now =\

Oh man.. sorry to hear that.. BTW my girlfriend ended up getting a D1 refub, but it is allot better than her old D1 so she is happy and they sent a new battery as well.
Question to those getting 2's now from the 1 replacement, are you getting OTA updates for a 2.2.20. I got mine Monday, and about 2 days ago I started getting the 2.2.20 update. I'm showing the verison I'm on now is 2.2.19. Is the 2.2.20 the most current verison for Droid2?

Yeah I got this update the first day I got my droid 2, which was Wednesday, I think I read somewhere that 2.2.20 is the most current version
I got mine on tuesday, once it was booted up I got the 2.2.20 update.
which would be newest verison. the "." are not decimal places but stops for chanages, usually (Major change).(minor change).(revision)
so 20 is twenty not 2 like would be in normal math

BTW Had my 4th replacement ordered today, ill post what I get on Tuesday or Wednesday.
