ICS Battery life

I know someone listed a few good battery monitoring apps earlier in the thread, but what would some of you recommend as far as a battery widget with the capability to change the info displayed? I'm using Battery Monitor Widget Pro right now, the free version seemed like it had a few more options though.

I use GSam it's the new name for Bad Ass battery monitor. The only problem with it is it's time left estimates. When I first turned on my Maxx it said I had a little over 3 hours left, now it says I have 20 hours left. A few times it said I had over 100 hours left!

I also like circle battery monitor, but it wasn't working correctly with ICS.

I used to use Gsam (formerly bada$$ battery monitor), but have grown to like Battery Monitor Widget by FSINIB ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fsinib.batterymonitor). I feel the charts are more helpful for my purposes.

I was using that battery monitor as well but it does not show an accurate battery percentage on my Maxx. It rounds up to the nearest 10% which I hate. So if I have 86% battery it says I still have 90%.

My phone works fine with WIFI, but when I go out of the house, my phone starts to get hot, while the screen is off, and the battery drains down rapidly. I have upgraded to 215 and re-calibrated the battery and done a factory data refresh, but still no joy. I am almost certain that the cause is the 4g radio or the sofware that uses it, especially when the 4g signal goes in and out. The only solution I have found, is to set up a smart action to turn off cellular data when the screen is off. I can easily go all day and night with moderate usage, when this smart action enabled. I believe that all the 4g phones that have come out before the razr have had similar problems. Verizon should have addressed this problem before aggressively pushing their 4g network. The average customer would most likely not be comfortable programming smart actions. Just my opinion.

Shochman, check to make sure global data is off and that it is set to LTE/CDMA (it is set to global by default). Go to settings---> More... (under Data usage) ---> Mobile networks ---> Network mode. Also make sure your Wifi gets turned off when you leave the house otherwise your phone will keep searching for available wifi networks, use battery and heat up in the process.

I am getting bout 8 hours with medium use. Should i ask for a replacement?

Depends on what you consider "medium" use. Eight hours for the MAXX is a bit low, even on heavy use with 4G going the whole time I have gone longer than that. There are a lot of factors to take into account in how you use the phone.

There are tons and tons of tweaks and things to try to get better battery life. There is a lot of good info in this section.

No, because your battery use can be related to how your phone is set up and how you use it. Getting a replacement, setting it up the same way and using it the same most likely is going to give you the same battery life. The first thing to do is try to set up your phone to get maximum use without impacting how you use your phone.

This is what I'm getting.

Not sure on that one, time left is pretty tough because it is constantly changing. Like measuring MPG's on my truck, it varies every time I step on the gas depending on how hard a step on it, and miles left to empty is never really "accurate".
