ICS Battery life

I downloaded widgets to my gfs razr and the 4g toggle opens up a phone settings page that I can't find under system settings, but you can turn off LTE there.

i have experienced a loss of battery live on both my wife's RAZR and my RAZR MAXX since the ics update. I had thought that it was actually supposed to increase with the ics update, but alas not yet.

Just like Beckeramos said, upgrading to the leaked .215 improves many things, including battery life. I would suggest you put down any liquid beverages, empty your bladder, loosen your belt a notch or two, close the door to your room so you don't disturb your family, close the window so you don't disturb the neighbors, take a deep breath, stick your tongue in your right or left cheek and skip on over to http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr-support/217843-mattyps-215-leak-classroom.html, where you will both learn the proper methods of upgrading to .215, and while you're there you're also going to get a taste of some very funny exchanges.

Realize, the comedy is the SECONDARY purpose of the thread, although it may seem otherwise.

If your rooted you can try CPU Editor v3 over at XDA look for smokin1337, read the op it works for all devices using postboot.sh .I'm getting between 5 to 6 hours of screen time and 18 hours of use.I'm on the HTC One S at the moment, but this is made for all dual core devices.

My phone drains much quicker since the 'upgrade' as well. Thought it was just my phone. I'm very new to "smart" phones. Are you referring to the LTE OnOFF - HTC Thunderbolt app?

Yes, it is the HTC LTE onOFF app but it works well with Razr.

Thanks bilgediver... I didn't realize the 4g widget on widgetsoid served the same purpose. I just changed my notification widget to include that instead of the phone info one I had. It works like a charm!

Agreed about. 215 helping. Curious what your on screen time averages on a charge?

I am not totally sure about the averages, I'd have to get back to you on that.

I've given up on going for a long time on one charge hehe. My on screen time is good when i use the phone in a way that avoids using the data network. Not much i can do without strong signal lol, for now i just leave wifi on and charge if needed. The only way i get one day + is if i charge at night and it's full before i go to bed, and i can't really claim that I used it while sleeping lol. Depending on usage i get 3-6 hours of screen time, and I'm cool with it.

Thanks for the link, .215 installed like a charm. Lets see if it helps, woo hoo!

My on screen time at work today was 4 hours, it varies depending on how busy I am. So on average I would say 3 to 5 hours of screen being on. Still have great battery life too.

I had to create an account just so I could thank Foxkat for his great advice! I installed the 215 leak and re-calibrated my battery meter...I'm currently at 19 hours and have 30% left after normal usage and minimal smart actions. Thanks again!

That is super captainseth! I can't wait till he sees this. Welcome to the forums!

Wow, you signed up just to thank me? :D

That's so cool! But the best way to thank me is to pay it forward. Take what you've learned and help someone else. I have lots of followers here who have become leaders on these forums, and I like to think I've had something to do with their new-found desire to help this community grow. We all have lots in common, and I'm not just talking phones (no pun intended). Like people tend to choose like methods of entertainment, technology, education, heck, food, clothes...the list goes on and on. It's no accident that were here. It's fate.

So Welcome aboard, grab a chair, make friends and lets all have lots of fun learning about our phones and helping others together to do the same!
