Incredible's battery life is not incredible

No battery issues here. Gps is always on as well.

It took 4 days for me to see an improvement with my 1750 Seido. I fully charged it each night and let it drain dead for 3 straight days. I went from 18% by the end of the first day to 55% on the fourth day. Now with realization that I was not even getting a full charge even though I had the green light and using the unplug and replug to get the green light I am at 64% at 3:30 PM with moderate use.

From what I have been reading the Seidio 1750 is about the best battery that will fit under the stock battery cover. As a side note I read some testing and it's actually closer to 1550 instead of 1750, but it's still better than the factory battery.

i dont know where this was "tested" but if you have a link that would be great! I have personally experienced better than 30% improvement in battery life so as far as my "testing" goes the claimed capacity is fairly accurate.

I wish I saved the link. I was following link and after link looking for information and reviews on the Seidio battery. I was wanting to know if it was worth it. It seemed odd that THEY could fit that much more power into a battery the same size. I was skeptical. All the reviews I read were good, and I'm still on the fence.

One article however, sorry I did not save any links or web pages, tested a Seidio against a factory battery, and extrapolated estimated specs based on length of usage. From what I recall it was performed properly and wasn't made up in the mind of some arm-chair engineer.

I myself kind of wish I had kept it because I am now thinking if I have been able to get my battery to last me almost 48 hours then I could stretch that out a bit further with a Seidio.

I've done the battery trick and it seems to help a little bit...but not like the results that are being claimed here...

Let me ask this.....I'm following the steps and let it charge to 100%...i turn phone off and then plug power back in...light goes orange for a bit and then turns green indicating done charging..I unplug and plug back in and back to orange....I can keep doing this and it always goes back to orange after I plug it back in...should it get to a point that when I unplug it and plug it back in it should go right to green??(indicating that no more charge is possible?) Seems like I would have to do this a lot to get it at that point

i saw a test posted on another site that compared the seidio 1750 battery for another model phone (not the incredible or eris), but the test was about a year or more old. it said the battery didn't rate as high as claimed by seidio. i take any tests of one battery on one phone with a boulder of salt though. conditions and setup on a particular phone where battery tests are run can't replicate real world feedback from many users. so far, the feedback from many users across this site and others support the sentiment that the 1750 battery does provide between 20-30% increase in battery life. although i ordered mine from seidio, there are places to get them cheaper than on seidio's site.

I've been in contact on the phone and via email with HTC about the "instant 10% battery drop" issue, the general battery life issues, and the poor reception and call quality issues. The phone representative stated that the poor battery life issue overall was due to the reception issue that was going to be fixed with a ROM update. He had not heard of the "10% issue" that many of us are experiencing. The web/email rep also seemed to dodge the 10% issue at first, but then suggested the charge-turn-off-charge-till-green-rinse/repeat method until that issue is fixed in a ROM as well. I'm included the responses from my email support conversations below. (It's funny that the rep describes the "on/off charging" to me after I explained it to them twice....)

Also, PLEASE take the time to contact HTC either via their web support form or calling the representatives. The more people let them know about the issue, and provide relevant information, the quicker we can get this issue resolved.

Hi, I’m Caylen, and I’ll be happy to assist you today. We are currently aware of these issues and are working to address them in the next MR (ROM update). Like all ROM updates, we cannot provide the exact date for an expected release, as there may be delays that are out of HTC’s control. The reception issue is linked to the battery issues. It is caused by the low signal, and your antenna always trying to find a better signal, which causes the battery to be drained more quickly. Thank you for contacting HTC America Technical Support. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any future questions. Also, I would like to invite you to participate in a customer satisfaction survey located at HTC Online Survey.
Thanks Q for your response. I understand how important it is for your phone to function properly. Here are some steps that should resolve the issue you are experiencing with your battery: 1. Connect the phone to the charger and charge the device until the LED turned green with the phone powered ON 2. Disconnect the phone, and power it off. 3. Reconnect the phone to the charger, and charged the device until the LED turns green again. 4. Disconnect the phone, power it on, and then power it off. 5. Reconnect the phone to the charger and charge until the LED turns green again. 6. Power on and use. As we have discussed about the MR (ROM) update, when released, these issues should be resolved. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at any
I'm copying and pasting this reply in a few forums and a few posts, so please forgive me if you've read this message twice. I just wanted to make sure the news got out to many of the frustrated users.

As of right now, I skip the last or final plug in, which equals usually 10 - 12 minutes or charge indication. I simply charge over night, unplug, power off, and plug back in. The following 45 minute charge seems to be almost as good as if I included that final step but by then I simply need to get out of the house and go to work.

Skipping that last step I haven't seen much of a difference. I was on my phone all day like a madman and I still only got a yellow bar on my phone just a few minutes ago.

My battery life is so so.

I'm a real estate agent and I'm on my phone all day. Mostly with my bluetooth since I'm driving a lot. I'm constantly texting & e-mailing. I use the GPS & Google Earth a lot, too. Even though I fully charge my phone each night, my battery is almost dead by 5 pm. I keep a car charger and charge it at least once while I'm driving. I like to listen to youtube through my vehicles radio. This will kill the battery by lunch time. I like my Incredible, but I know that the battery technology has not kept up with the phone. With much power comes much responsibility & HTC failed, but I like it a lot more than my old Blackberry Curve.

I just got the 1750 battery, everything is good again

But let me add this, HTC knew they were releasing a phone with a terrible stock battery , probably so they can push sales when for 3rd party accessories

Well, after ordering and receiving my Ebay $11.99 2x1500 mAh batteries and a wall charger plus usb port. I am getting another 3+ hours of use over the stock battery. I'm up to about 18 hours of moderate-heavy use. I've had 3 charges on the new one so far. If it's anything like my stock battery it should get a little better when I get a few more charges on this thing, but overall I am very pleased with the results. I now have the stock plus 2 extra batteries. Plenty of un-interrupted power. Can't beat the price. By the way, when I ordered these I mistakenly clicked the buy button twice and I have an extra 2 batteries and wall charger "new in box" if anyone is interested. Posted them on Craigslist locally but no hits yet. I will sell for the price I paid plus shipping. See attachment.... :)

where are you located, and what type of payment do you accept, by the way, my stock battery lasts me all day just fine, just installed Task Killer and it works like a charm, don't forget, this is a smart phone and is always doing some kind of task, with task killer before I put it into standby I kill all apps that are irrelevant, which pretty much is most of them, I still receive my emails and phone call and text messages. Once you click on an app it is fully functional again, just make sure before you place the phone on standby to kill the apps that are irrelevant..
