what do you mean? it charges and works fine.. i dont do that charge the phone and then turn it off and unplug it and charge it deal..

i used for about a week, did the initial charge of 8hrs... etc...

its perfectly fine..

I like OEM.. long story but every since putting aftermarket stuff on my car and motorcycle, i am an OEM kinda guy now ;)

I just got my Incredible yesterday. First thing I did before I turned it on, was to charge it to full, unplug, plug about 3-4 times and then turned it on and spent the night downloading apps and setting up my phone.

Seems pretty good so far! I'll post back as I do more charges on it and when I get the Seidio extended battery.

Call quality has been amazing but signal seems to be disturbingly low. I'm usually in the -80 to -90 range and have 1 bar but calls go through fine. I don't know why it's that way. Internet is extremely fast and easy to use although I wish some of the transitions were smoothed out better like the iPhone. Other than that, I'm a happy Incredible owner.

there was a post somewhere stating that an HTC representative said that the radio powers down when it isnt needed so as to conserve battery. Apparently this is reflected in the fact that when you make a call, the bars will jump back up (because the radio is now being used) when in fact the signal quality has been exactly the same the whole time.

there is another belief that it is simply a glitch in the software.

in any case, it is well known now that you cant trust the bars right now. Instead, you should check the number in your phone settings.

I really recommend the JuicePlotter app. It graphs battery usage over time. It will help show the charge and discharge rates, and you can compare with others, and see what times it discharged the fastest (say while you were in a log signal area or were using a lot of apps).

I wish I could take screenshots, some things I have discovered... a car/wall charger was able to charge my phone at about a rate of 80+% an hour, vs about 20% an hour for a USB charger.

Turning off background network updates netted me roughly 2% an hour of extra battery life (this was with light usage, results may vary greatly).

Does it tell you how much battery juiceplotter is sucking up? I had juicedefender & juiceplotter an dumped them both when I realized this>Note: some features require UltimateJuice - might not work on CDMA phones w/ Android 2.1... that's from the developers webpage... Sorry but I didn't see any benefit with this app. If it actually worked on CDMA phones with 2.1 it might be a good app.

JuicePlotter works fine by itself on my Driod Incredible. I have not noticed any drastic battery use from the program. They claim the program itself doesn't regularly poll the battery, it only intercepts call from other apps so it's much easier on the battery than some other apps might be.

also looking desperately for a google voice invite if anyone is so kind to share i am incredibly grateful! you can PM me.

thanks in advance,

Just got my Incredible a few days ago and have been disappointed in the battery life. Battery use indicates:
Android system 71%
Display 22%
Cell standby 12%
Bluetooth 12%

I've reprogrammed using *228 and shut down apps running in the background. Wondering if I'm not getting as complete a charge from my old Storm chargers?

I'm regularly getting almost two full days on one charge and I do use my phone a lot. I don't play much media but I do make a lot of calls, texts, internet use, and app use.

I just received mine this past Tuesday.

This is what I'm seeing:

Android System: 94%
Cell Standby: 2%
Wi-Fi: 2%
Phone Idle: 2%

Does this information comes from the last charge?

Also how do I change the settings for certain apps?

I left to work today at 2:45 pm.. and did not use my phone at all until I got out. Once I was finished working I checked my phone and it was at like 60% (note that I got out at 7:00 pm) From then until I got home I was texting and using AIM a little. Two hours later my phone was at 45%. I charged it for like 2 hours and now it got to 95%. Forty minutes later it's at 88% battery life. Again I ask.. how do I change the settings for certain apps?

Fapout, follow this procedure and you'll get SOOO much more life out of the Incredible battery. I know it's a pain, but it's an HTC glitch we have to work around until they release a fix for it...probably a software update.

Leave phone powered ON for overnight charge.

In morning when charge light is green, unplug, and turn phone OFF.

Immediately plug phone back in while OFF. (Orange charge light will illuminate.)

NOTE: After roughly 30 - 45 minutes of charging while off the orange charge light will turn green.

Unplug, and re-plug once more. You'll see the light turn orange again, usually for 5 - 10 minutes.

Unplug, and turn phone ON.

You'll notice an immediate battery life extension. I'm talking extra HOURS. I posted a few pages back that I can get almost two full days on one charge using this method. While all these phones and results seem to be different it's a trick with will certainly make some kind of difference for you.

NOTE: I don't use an app killer at all.

Is this a one time operation? Or, daily, monthly, etc? Do you have any further sources you can link to about this method?
