Is anyone the tiniest bit jealous of the iPhone 4s?

It is much better to see a list of known issues from the carrier or manufacturer (I would love to know how "common" most of them are) than a stubborn denial that the product could possibly have any faults when we know that it does, no?

First of all, you're using terms like "problems" and "issues" which mean nothing specific. If you want to talk about specific issues or problems, bring them up. A person could call suffering from poor battery life a "problem." Secondly, trying to draw a parallel between my comments about the Bionic and another phone I've never even owned is completely disingenuous. Spreading FUD about "widespread" problems is also pretty petty.

And yes, I'm saying that "all the problems" that this guys "friends" had are very likely due to user error. I call bullcrap on anybody who claims that after 6 phone replacements they still have some huge "issue" that requires the phone being replaced, yet millions of other people have never experienced the same issue. If the issue was pervasive and inherent in the phone's OS/setup, a majority of people would suffer from it. The chances of me being the one person on Earth who "accidentally" got a working phone is preposterous. That doesn't mean there aren't people out there with lemons, because it happens. But if you return more than 1 phone and still end up with a lemon, it's either that ALL phones are suffering from this issue...or the issue is with YOU.

Go ahead and point out all of these issues that the Bionic has that I'm so fortunate to not be experiencing. I'm waiting to hear. I can tell you right now that the only problem I had with the Bionic (poor battery life) was my own fault. And guess what? I figured it out (WidgetLocker) on my own instead of returning 5 phones to Costco.

lol, wow. The distortion reality field really covers more ground than anybody could have ever imagined.

Yes, It does cover more than imagined. It's truthful statistics. Always keep in mind, without Apple the world is a different place. Like no "PC's" either.

In the area of operating system stability. Apple > everything else. Fact

As i said before, I am not a "apple fan" but they do make a nice product. Since it is so "limited" it is easy to focus on one thing at a time to.

No need to bash Iphone or Apple itself. They are also technology leaders of the world.

I'm not jealous of it, no. I was looking forward to seeing the release and I'd be jealous if some of the iPhone 5 rumors were true, like a bigger screen and better design just to name a couple. Instead they took their same phone and just bumped up specs till they were you typical modern smartphone. We've had dual core for a while now, we've had 8mp camera as well (of course, this is really good because the iPhone cam is really good!)
does that mean I don't think it's a good machine? Nope! I just think that they're at the tail end of the specs. But some people will be happy!
And I just wouldn't use an iPhone.

It may be a truthful account of subjective personal experience, but it is not an appropriate representative sample to call "statistics."

This is the truest statement you've made here... but that was how long ago? That was the Woz-powered Apple. The Jobs-powered Apple was a different story. Did Job's resurrected version of Apple bring some good innovations--yes, but also some bad ones and a lot of just plain misinformation. The rainbow-colored apple changed the world with their computers. The only thing world-changing about the glossy white apple is marketing.

Absolutely untrue. In operating stability, UNIX > everything else. There are UNIX computers that have been up and running without interruption since the 1970s. Show me an Apple product you can say that about. Despite the early marketing, Mac OS X is *not* UNIX. It is UNIX-esque. I have crashed a few macs in my day, and I've seen others do the same--and without trying to do anything weird. Apple is the first loser in the Pwn2own hacking competition every single year. If you can gain admin access to the system that easily, you can sure as hell crash it easily. Apple OS stability is a fantasy, generally induced by not really doing much of anything interesting on their devices.
As i said before, I am not a "apple fan" but they do make a nice product.
Sometimes--depending on the product and your needs and standards.
Since it is so "limited" it is easy to focus on one thing at a time to.
I can say that about DOS too. That doesn't mean I want to use it anymore.
No need to bash Iphone or Apple itself.
Most people wouldn't, if they weren't praised so disproportionately to other products and software that do just as much or more to deserve it. More importantly, any time someone tries to point out and correct common Apple disinformation, it always gets labeled "bashing." Telling the honest truth about Apple is not a hate crime.
They are also technology leaders of the world.
Which is why at the iPhone 4s announcement, Apple "unveiled" several features that Android has offered for months and even years--and virtually nothing new of their own--on a not-yet-released phone that is already more out of date than phones released months ago. This is the company that feels the need to sue other manufacturers for "stealing" their ideas, happily stealing ideas from others. Yes, technology leaders of the world. Way ahead of the curve. Which curve, I'm not sure.

Certainly there is great irony in the lawsuits that Apple has filed considering the number of innovations that they blatantly copy from other companies. When Apple does it, it's "improvement;" when others do it, it's copyright and patent infringement. Who knew?

No not a bit. This is were they are droping the ball. That thing sucks.

On the phone front, the iphone never interested me, and the droid did from the start, especially once I learned it would be open source. The clutter that is the iphone homescreen still makes me shiver a bit. Also, no qwerty, no likey.

So seriously, you have to Jailbreak your iphone and connect to your PC just to change your SMS notification tone? Talk about a fail.

What really bothers me most about iphone is that you can't pull the battery. Why can't you pull the battery?

And why does such an innovative company give us an Iphone and a half? And they give it to us 5 months late? And above all, they can't give us lte.

What's next, the Iphone4S2?

Well why would you need to pull battery? If its because of stability or freezing, iPhone rarely has that issue. If it's because you want to interchange batteries so you'll always be "on" iPhone is not plagued with bad battery life either

Also, how is this an iPhone and a half? New processor, more RAM, outperforms its predecessor quite handedly in the limited benchmarks we have and really is a very fluid device. What would make it a whole iPhone? The name "iPhone5" and a bigger screen?

As for LTE, yeah I'm sure that's something that a lot of people expected, and I'm sure it'll be in the next iteration of the iPhone, but LTE right now is not something thats widespread. Plenty of people will be fine with just having 3G.

512 mb ram, same small screen, and no 4G? What a freaking joke of an announcement if you ask me. I'd take my OG Droid too!

lol but wait you can talk to it and it'll talk back. Apples a joke always has, always will be. I wont use apple if someone gave it to me. Id just drown it in the tub. My friend who is a Apple sheep, said the Iphone 4s is a complete joke. I am completely happy with android. Cant wait for Ice Cream :)
