Is anyone the tiniest bit jealous of the iPhone 4s?

I wasn't underwhelmed at all.

As you said, the screen is pretty incredible, the size and quality are unmatched currently.

It's camera looks incredible and had a lot of improvements. The panorama is something I haven't seen before personally. Zero shutter time is just something I've been dying to have.

Android beam actually looks pretty amazing and I can't imagine what people do with it once they start using it for more features.

I think you'll always find hints of other apps/OS features in any device, as you have to start somewhere. It's sort of like how Siri wasn't anything new, we've seen it for years, but apparently they have improved upon the program.

I guess we have different ideas of marketing.

I'm following a device that I'm interested in, I'm looking at the facts and the abilities that have been presented. I'm not looking at a commercial or seeing a celebrity using something and believing that I have to have said device.

I believe it was found that 34% of people who bought the Iphone 4g thought they had 4G internet speeds, that's what I call falling for marketing.

I believe it was found that 78% of people who bought the Iphone 4g thought they had 4G internet speeds, that's what I call falling for marketing.

well to be fair it was 34% and 28% of android users thought they had it when in fact they didn't as well.

Plus I view that more as a failure of education on whatever sales rep sold them the phone. Whether it be an Apple employee or a carrier rep selling Android phones.

Sorry but we do not have different ideas about anything.
You just have a complete misunderstanding of something clearly defined in the business, pr, advertising and marketing world.

And to be clear, every major brand in the world has their sheep like fans, I just don't buy into that being the sole reason the product does well. I think that is an extremely biased way to look at things. I don't feel anyone can give a truly impartial opinion when they do view the world through those eyes.

Not that I was comparing Android vs Apple, but the fact remains that zero Iphone's have 4G connections, where as Android users actually had the possibility of being aware of their devices having 4G.

Apple is a master at marketing, I simply stated I don't feel it works on me because I look at the facts and don't blindly purchase something because it's new.

Obviously I'm affected by my needs as a consumer, but I look for what I want, as apposed to what everyone else tells me to want.

I've had my OG for nearly 2 years, I could have purchased multiple phones within that time, but I continued to wait for a product that I felt met my needs.

That's how I differentiate myself, I purchase when something comes along that meets my needs, as apposed to purchasing a status symbol.

Folks, I just edited some of the comments. Perhaps I'm over cautious but my sense is this discussion has the potential to get out of hand. Perhaps it is time for everyone to take a brake.

Your source that shows that apple users purchase iPhones not because they want them, but as status symbols? Or is this just some blind assumption with no proof?

Btw, you also have no proof that those android users surveyed had 4g phones thereby giving them a chance of being right

Honestly, I don't feel superior to others at all. I feel more informed because I choose to be, but not superior.

You're taking the normal Android fanboi mentality and placing it upon me, which I don't feel is justified.

If taking the time to get to know the facts and being capable of looking past the often false marketing that all companies do, makes me appear like I think I'm superior, then so be it.

I'll deal with being called names for taking the initiative to keep myself better informed.
