What is this "check USB connectivity via a color-coded widget" that they mention?

Sounds perfectly useless to me...

If it's only a USB status checker widget, then it is completely useless and just eye-candy (and a waste of resources).
If it can toggle USB to mount..then maybe I'll give it 4/5 stars. So pulling down the tray, selecting "Select to copy files to/from your computer" and then going to the USB page...is a 2-3 step process depending on how you look at it.
One-click on a widget would be a nice addition.

I'm happy to report that Verizon Wireless will start pushing Android 2.2 (Froyo) to the original Droid by Motorola during the week of August 2.

Although I can't confirm it yet, I would not be surprised if there were a push to some small number of users as a pre-launch test as early as tonight...

I think it's the green droid guy that pops up now, when you plug into usb and then turns orange wants you activate mass storage.

I think it's kinda annoying because now I have to press home just to get out of that screen every time I plug usb in.

OMFG that is very annoying to me as well.
That's one of the first annoyances I noticed with FroYo.

Ok guys this just came down to me from VZW a few minutes ago......

Droid is getting updated on August 3rd on a staggared release. So for those who are waiting the wait is almost over

Which means don't exppect it on the third. More likely it will really start coming out around the 7th. the first few days are only for a handful of people. But by the 7th the masses should be getting it. Maybe the 6th.
