Just got an OTA from Moto this am

Apparently Verizon is having network issues. That might be why we are getting a lot of data drops today.

Ok, can everyone please stop posting in this thread unless you actually get the update? I subscribed to this thread, so every time someone posts, I get a notification e-mail. And every time I see the the subject "Reply to thread 'Just got an OTA from Moto this am'" my heart skips a little because I think maybe, just maybe, people are actually starting to get the update. Then I open it up and it's another "yea ... I don't have the update either .... when is it coming .... zOMG its taking too long ... data issues ... verzion sucks ... moto sucks worse.... yadda yadda yadda"

So, if you do get the update pushed, please let us know. Otherwise ......

I am nott saying an update hasn't been released. I was lectured on how you don't have to be a soak tester to get it early, this may all be true, but as a soak tester we are supposed to be notified when the test is coming. None of this has happened. I still check for update every time I can. I try to check this thread to see if anyone else has got it but my data connection keeps dropping. No one else has got it apparently, no magic update here. I got bionic not knowing if I would like it, but it grows on you. If update fixes most problems, especially data drops, then I am keeping it. Come on soak test!

Yeah, but the way the forums over there work, and the way Matt disappears after posting anything interesting; it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the email never arrived. Back when I was part of the first OG Droid soak test, I never did get an email. Just access to a restricted forum and an update that popped up on my phone.

And this time, during the signup process, they made it clear that people NOT directly involved in the soak test would be randomly chosen "victims" as well.

This further supports the findings that 893 is the official update. Not sure why everyone is waiting for the supposed official ota when there are 3 sources now claiming this is indeed the official one. And 893 is all.over the web. There is a page somewhere that also has the 5.5.893 update and the incremental in between that can get you to 5.7.893. If I can find the site ill post a link. In any event try googling and u should find it. Just download the zips and apply I order i'm ur stock recovery and that's alok. No more waiting. Also just an fyi there are no real features in this update just some fixes to the radio so if ur not having data connectivity issues there is no reason to even care about this.

There is no point in doing 3 step method you can do it in one. It may be offical leak but Im sure if it is Moto will figure some way to block the offical only 24 more days left till show time. Battery life is supposed to be better and camera also.

Just got off the phone with verizon rep about my wifes phone and asked her about the update for the bionic.....she said that they just got an email today from moto that the update will start going out on the 9th. And guess what version?

5.5.893 So, would there be any difference in the leaked 5.5.893 and the one that is getting ready to release?

Well in a way I hope your wright and in a way not. I hope your wright because then it will be over one way or the other. However if it is the same as the leaked version then it doesnt fix the problems. We will see.

Didn't you say in your original post that the rep you spoke to told you it was 5.7.893 for the OTA update? Now this rep told you 5.5.893?
