Just got unlimited data added to my account today

I just did the same thing like 2 hours ago. It only cost 10 bucks more than 10gb and has hotspot added. Though the 4g doesn't seem as fast as I hoped. Kinda disappointing

If you call cs and say you want the "unlimited mobile hotspot" it will only be $30.00 instead of what you are paying for the 10 g plus hotspot.

Oddly enough in my case, I already had 4G Hotspot with the 6GB Double Data promo (4GB Data, 2GB Hotspot) but when I got the Unlimited Data, Hotspot fell off my account! I had checked the VZ Site and didn't see Hotspot. I find this strange. I didn't ask for the feature to be removed.

Woot, just called again, 2nd call. Got a lady on the phone and told her that I was talking to some reps at Best Buy and that they told me that because I was still on a feature phone, that if I called CS and asked, that they could probably get me on the unlimited plan if I upgraded my phone. She said yes, they have a promotion going on this month where they can get me on the unlimited plan for 29.99 a month. I double and triple checked and asked her to make sure the promotion wasn't the 4gb a month one they have going (double data), and she said no, it is truly unlimited, and asked if I wanted to go ahead with it, so I said yes yes yes! New Droid Bionic is on its way with unlimited data! Woot!

Has any one else with a new bionic tried this?

I tried to use the method of asking for UNLIMITED MOBILE HOTSPOT but it did not work. What may be the problem?

Why didn't it work? Did the rep tell you it was unavailable? Something similar?

Call back. No need to wait a day or two. I was denied, and then immidiatly called back. If you get a rep that says it doesnt exist, tell them you JUST had a friend add it to his plan.

Be nice, be civil, be persistant.

So just to confirm: we ask for the hot spot which is $30. But to get it our data must be unlimited. So the cs rep makes data unlimited for $30. Then we can cancel hot spot online later but get to keep the $30 unlimited data plan?

Had anyone had a Bill since dropping the hotspot?

Might not be much to you, but if you pay for hotspot 1 month it should not matter. U will then have UNLIMITED DATA. save money in long run.

Has anyone successfully done this online?

UPDATE: I see it tells me to call CS. Guess it tells us all that. Sorry, dumb question.

How much are you saving by dropping the hotspot? If you don't get it by requesting "unlimited mobile hotspot for 4g phones special" then keep calling. Took the 7th call to get it.

You know, I'm coming back to LINUX from a long while with iPhone. I was a longtime active member at talk.maemo.org that focused on the Nokia internet tablets. I missed that community so much while on iPhone. The iPhone communities were populated by assholes mostly. It's great to be back in a LINUX community. People are so damn kind and helpful. That is all.

I want to understand your question. You're asking how much one saves by dropping the hotspot (after activating it to get unlimited data), right? Isn't the answer that you save $30 (i.e. dropping hotspot reduces bill by $30), leaving you with just the $30 unlimited data. Right??
