[KERNEL] Kernel (deprimed_test) - Break It If You Can

PM's sent..

So far so good, first thing I noticed was that 3g did not connect until i toggled my wireless off then on. Will report back.

My 3g connected no problem, flashed fine too. Wifi connected very quickly, and 3g came back quickly after turning wifi off. Made a phone call and 3g came back almost immediately. For all this connecting, it also changed from white to "cyan" very quickly as well. Connected for USB mass storage no problem. USB Tether seems to work too. Overall, everything seems very smooth.

However, compcache does not seem to work. It was not working with your last official release either. I'm using the #57 CM7 nightly

If it's not working must be in the build your running, I'm on a official nightly from a few days ago and compcache is working correctly.

What is the output of this in terminal:

Code:
su
handle_compcache

Had to reboot, and 3g came up fine this time. Ran some benchmarks. So far seems more responsive. Reading the sd card via usb seems quicker too.

Here's my compcache stats if that helps.

Here is what I get. I'm using the official CM7 #57 nightly from 4/26

Code:
$ su
#handle_compcache
modprobe: chdir(/lib/modules): No such file or directory
/system/bin/compcache: cannot create /sys/block/zram0/disksize: directory nonexistent
mkswap: can't open '/dev/block/zram0': No such file or directory
swapon: can't stat '/dev/block/zram0': No such file or directory

Deprimed test #20 (Kernel reports #1) - (4/29/2011)

Added the Brain **** Scheduler aka BFS (follow the wikipedia link for more information). Integrated to further increase battery life without decreasing performance. (no interaction required as BFS is enabled by default). Pulled from the git of gfunkmonk (a deprimed git clone).

Are you using the stock busybox or have you updated?

I had actually used the busybox updater to go to 1.19, and then remembered seeing you on multiple occasions scolding people for doing so, so I'm reflashing and I'll report back.

Edit: Yup, that did it. Works great.

So far very smooth, noticeable performance increase.

Thanks. I ran a few powertop tests and there should indeed be a battery life increase as well, I should have added BFS long ago but had not really considered it (even when suggested).

Prime, so if I switch from stock cm7 to your kernel(and set the max cpu to 600) should I expect a battery life increase or about the same? Just curious what sort of improvements you've made.

You should see a noticeable increase in battery life coming from the stock kernel or from the previous deprimed as well.

You will need to read the BFS links to better understand how it works.
