[KERNEL] Kernel (deprimed_test) - Break It If You Can

Anyone else have issues with custom ringtones on the newest Deprimed? I'm assuming it has something to do with that deeper sleep function, and the phone not waking up fast enough to process custom ringtones, because if I switch back to Primed, I get my ringtones again, but I could be wrong

I have had no issue with it. I use ringdroid and it saves them as a regular song on your sd card. If you are using something else then that may be the issue.. But no issues here :)

Ive had this with any kernel. Wife will call and I get custom ringer. She calls 10min later and its back to default.

Even had this issue when I had my Eris.

Are you saying when you have primed kernel its 100% custom ringer working? If so, what settings you using?

i have problems keeping ringtones set as well as notifications.

I also have been getting a lot resets when i am using Navigation and get a phone call. after the call i usually get a reset. using BT headset too. I am not sure if this is kernal or CM7...started before RC3.

No problems with Ringtones using CM7RC4, I had problems on RC2. Wondering if the memory issues were causing the problem.

Well to clarify, my ringers are staying set, just not playing properly, and It's about 90% of the time I get them with primed, 0% of the time (absolutely never) with the newest DePrimed. I'm running 250-1000 at the same custom voltages for both, and the same SetCPU profiles for both, the ONLY difference is the kernel

Some of the scripts are not working for me.
overclock and update_deprimed work fiine
primed sysrw sysro all say not found even though I used the tab autocomplete on them in the terminal.
I looked in system/bin and they exist but even trying to navigate to the folder and directly run them it says not found.

Any Ideas?

Off topic question, it seems Root Explorer is pretty popular. I use astro. It has a bluetooth add on to provide access to the SD card. Thinking of dropping astro, but I actually use the Bluetooth. Any thoughts?

You can always keep them both installed... Root explorer gives you full access to the phone's filesystems including one click r/w or r/o toggle of /system.

I use both. Prior to rooting, I got Astro Pro and use the smb module to connect to my home file-share network. Post-root, I got Root Explorer for full access to phone's file systems.

So yeah, I checked, Amazon battery older and Verizon battery newer. Neither seems to perform better than old one. Guessing I just do stuff that sucks power. Bought an external charger, it helps.

What are you up to prime? Is everything going ok. It's been quiet lately.

I will check out primed and see what i get. Nev thought it might be a kernel issue
