Since new OS drives the purchase of new hardware, it seems kind of unlikely. I think it's more frustrating with the Droid3 because the Droid4 came out only a few months later.

My big fear is that Motorola will trim the line of phones it offers while it focuses on only a few key lines and that the slider will suffer (or be discontinued) as a result. I have no specific information telling me this is the case, I just can't see how Motorola can continue creating something for a niche audience.

For me, I feel like it's a feeling of security knowing I have something physical to work with. I like feeling the hard buttons press down. Lets me know I'm actually typing what I want. I don't use the soft keyboard much. Needless to say, if the D5 comes out and has a removable battery and unlockable bootloader, I just might get it.
