LauncherPro Beta (SUPER FAST & SMOOTH Launcher!)

I was running into this. Solved, in my case, anyway, by taking WL Helper out of the picture.
Home button calls LP.
Long press on search calls Power Strip.
WL unlocks from Back button or slider (Sense UI one).
For some reason Home button also unlocks WL, though it shouldn't cos it's supposed to need WL Helper as default home for that.
Anyway, doesn't get stuck exiting WL anymore.
Also -- don't know if it matters -- but all my music widgets are now on PS, with a shortcut to that on WL and LP.
The reason is that way they're all nice little round buttons instead of big strips.

Lately there are just too many issues with LP. Each release, it gets more complicated. You need a PhD to tune it. You don't hear a lot of chatter about problems with ADW. It just works. I appreciate all the work the developer of LP is doing. He is super responsive and an incredibly talented coder. Hopefully the product will stabilize, and 2.2 will resolve some of the memory issues. I would prefer if LP went back to its roots of being simple, fast and stable.

Cant you just goto the website and download a older version?

personally I like the updates, never had a problem with LauncherPro and the every new version adds a bit of awesomeness to it.

Keep up the good work Fede

On your Incredible, which has more memory than the droid, LP probably runs better. On the Moto droid, I have had numerous re-drawing and FCs issues. For example, today, my Twitter and Astrid widgets stopped receiving data.

I agree, LP has been getting more complicated and it is effecting the performance on my droid significantly. Im not sure if I should wait it out for updates to fix this, or just revert back to a more stable version. Having to wait for it to redraw everything is so frustrating. Can someone tell me how to go back to a previous version?

I do believe all the previous versions are on the website. Just download a previous apk and install that way.

I had this issue too a while back. The updates have features that help with that. I haven't have it lag or redraw not once since those features were added. Look through the settings and play with it a bit.

The only problem I have with LP now is that it takes a while to redraw often. This only happens when I exit out of intensive programs such as Maps or navigation. Do you mind listing your memory usage settings?

Side question, would deleting apps to free up space help out with the speed or is that unrelated?

While I try to keep a buffer (ie leave 30 or so mb available) so I don't get a "Low On Memory" message, I don't think apps would be as much of a problem as widgets on the screen.

There have been problems with Twitter apps across the board that have nothing to do with LauncherPro. It even affected desktop Twitter apps like TweetDeck. It's a Twitter issue, not a LauncherPro issue.

Yup been saying this for the last month. Too many settings. Too many issues. Too much lagging and way too many FC's. I have had at least 10 LP FC's in the last week. The whole time I have owned my Droid (since Dec) I have only ever had a few FC's total. I think I am gonna go back to whatever version was right before my birthday (6/16). I remember this because we were on vacation at the OBX and I remember after doing the update the issue started and go worse with each subsequent update.

Same here. Just today alone, I've had 11 FC's. I absolutely love LP and don't want to be without it so I think I'm gonna give in and go back to an older version. Which older version is everyone liking?
TIA. Have a fantastic day!

since i cleaned off my home screens from some widgets since i have widget locker and quick desk the lag and FC's are gone
