LauncherPro Beta (SUPER FAST & SMOOTH Launcher!)

Well then something was wrong with your phone lol. Cuz it doesnt blink when the screen is on. Only when its sleeping

Do you use LauncherPro?

I might just be "trippin'." Lol. I'm not sure. I actually can't remember if it did. I think it did, but I"m not sure. -_-

The LED will only function properly if the phone is "Sleeping." I have the icon in the bar for a new SMS message, but no LED while I'm using the phone for any program. It only works while sleeping.
This is how android 2.1 and 2.2 are designed to work...has NOTHING to do with LauncherPro.

Once the screen is on, the LED is disabled since any notifications would just show up in the notification bar up top (since stock launcher doesn't have an option to hide the notification bar).

Same as it ever was, this is not new. The LED has been disabled when the screen is turned on since android 2.1.

That's not true. I've had it blink regardless if the screen was on or not before the update. It's only happened after I installed that.

I'm sorry, but you are mistaken. There are countless posts on the forum about this "issue". http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...ns/37576-no-led-notification-when-screen.html :icon_ deal:

When I do a simple search I can find 15-20 threads where people are asking about this "problem". The answer is the same in EVERY one - this "feature" was built into :greendroid: 2.1 OS.

Yeah, just found that out. I don't understand though. Maybe I just forgot. I don't know. Whatever it was, is my fault. Bad memory I guess. >,<

However, does that mean the LED won't blink for Gmail notifications? Because I was looking for a video to prove it, and I ended up finding videos of people with a waiting Gmail notification, but the LED was blinking.

There. That's even with SMS.

And to prove that the LED wasn't because of the Gmail app: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxAN8V4W84k&feature=related]YouTube - Changing the Ringtone on your Droid Phone

Same guy, but he doesn't have a waiting SMS notification. But he does have a waiting Gmail notification in both videos. But he doesn't have a SMS notification in the second video. Meaning that something is wrong.

Red SMS Count Dot

Hey there Fede,

I was wondering if with LP we can get the SMS Count red dot to clear out if you got to your messages via the Notification Bar?

I have BB v.4 with a 1.2 GHz kernel, LP runs super smooth, no FCs in a week, and its great, the red dot count is FANTASTIC! But... It's slightly frustrating when I read my messages via the Notification drop down, go back home, and it still shows a number of unread messages (I have read them, the SMS app recognizes them as being read) but the red dot count is still there. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your amazing work!

If anyone figures out the redraw problem, I will love you forever

Try messing with the Memory Usage in LauncherPro. I can't even remember the last time my launcher had to redraw itself. Works flawlessly.

Can you post your settings? I have tried every combination known to man. After running certain more intensive type apps, it always starts doing it again (the redraw). Perhaps you have more internal memory available? I have 47mb available.

I have been running launcher pro for a while now, and it would have to redraw every now and then depend on the app I was coming out of. Recently it was doing almost with every app, it was getting unbearable, so finally decided to put the "launcher in memory", despite what every one says about doing that, I haven't had the problem since. Oh, and I don't think I've never had a FC.

It worked like that in 0.6.5 but it had to be removed because it was causing delays when going back home. It will update when you open the SMS app through LP's shortcut, when you rotate LauncherPro, or when a new SMS comes in.

Hey Fede,

Was trying to change a couple of docked apps icons to custom icons and noticed a quirk, some spots, of the 15, would change fine but some (not sure which ones or how many, didn't test too much) would change the app I wanted to make custom to the default icon but change a different app in the tray to the custom icon I wanted, but not change the apk it controlled, weird.

Hope that made sense, let me know if you don't understand or need more info.

I'm curious what spaces the ones that wouldn't take a custom icon were in. I think I've changed about every icon in my LP dock to custom at some point. Currently, though, the four spaces that come filled do all have default icons.

LauncherPro Beta v0.6.7.2

So apparently 0.6.7 broke on a lot of Droids (it’s odd that it worked fine on my Milestone). It’s probably because I compiled it using the Froyo SDK. I also accidentally left some bad code that made Live Wallpaper performance very poor.
Both problems should be fixed in 0.6.7.2
Click here to download the APK file.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

LauncherPro Beta v0.6.7 available!

A relatively small update, version 0.6.7 brings two new things:

  • Fixed (probably?) the problem in Froyo where apps moved to the SD card don’t show up in the drawer (and they show a default icon on the desktop) until LauncherPro is restarted. They should work fine now.
  • New feature: custom dock backgrounds. You can now use any image on your gallery as a dock background. Open Preferences > Appearance Settings > Dock Background, and choose “Custom”, your gallery should open and you’ll be able to select your background.

The images should be in portrait format. The width should be 480 pixels for high pixel density devices, and 320 for medium pixel density devices. The height should not be higher than 84 pixels for high pixel density and 56 pixels for medium pixel density.

If you create a custom background and would like to share it with all LauncherPro users, please post it in our forum here.

    • That’s it for now. Some MAJOR and very exciting new things should be coming to LauncherPro next week. Stay tuned!

Just installed this and its a sweet app. Really like it.

1 question/issue. Whats the secret to having widgets work? Whenever I reboot, or just turn my phone to landscape, they turn into "problem loading widget". Help?

I would love to know what memory settings you have selected as I have tried all of them and still get the redraw issue! I even reduced the number of widgets and screens but it still occurs all the time! Thats on the Milestone non rooted running
