Leak .242?

So what else can we say about .242?
I love the Bionic OEM battery so much I got two more when Verizon droped the price, I use the SEIDIO belt clip holster & they go great together, It keeps me running .242 all day! ;)

That being said, if someone has questions about the extended battery outside of how it relates to this leak, i have to agree that we've figured a bit too far off topic and that should move into its own thread.

Yeah, we started talking about battery life on .242 and it strayed from there. Ah well.

Of course battery life depends on a lot of things. On that note, has the CPU speed to 1,200 mhz more consitant, or does it still vary from phone to phone?

Personally, I'd say get it. It isn't that bulky, actually feels nice with the shape and weight (they went the extra mile to make it usable and not clunky), it only costs $25, and it's perfect for when you know you will not get regular access to a charger and will be using it more than normal.

Yes and no. For some it has, but not everyone. It doesn't even depend on the leak. It appears that when ICS is installed it checks the capabilities of that particular phone and if it can handle the extra 200 mhz it happens.

Also, has anyone tried doing a search in the app drawer? On .905 it FC, on .905 it did nothing.

It bumped to 1.2 on my phone.

It did nothing for me at first, but then i remembered freezing Google search. I inferior it and it works fine.

Of note, it was the same search in the app drawer and on the home screen, and it seems to combine search on the phone and apps as well as Web.

I'll also say, after a day of using it, it is much smoother and seems more battery friendly than 229 was. I'm glad I took the chance with it.

I haven't seen this question answered directly in the thread, so I apologize if its been answered:

Can I go direct from 232 to 242, or do I have to step through 235 and 238, or FXZ back to 905 and then to 242?

I'm going to stick with 232 for a couple more days and look for some better indication that 242 is going to be OTA. If there's still no indication, then I'm moving to 242 simply because its getting a lot of good pub both here and elsewhere.

Why would you think that you're going to see "some indication" in the next couple days? It's at VZW right now being certified. That takes 3 weeks. The build is from last Wednesday. There is almost zero chance of us hearing anything this week unless there's a fire under VZW's @$$ to get this thing out the door. I don't think so. They are almost NEVER early with these things. So the earliest I'd think you'd see any indication is the 14th.

As for your other question, "Can I go direct from 232 to 242"....no. All the updates install on top of 905. Now if you're asking if the House of Bionic install 242 option can be used on a 232 phone, then yes, it can. Otherwise, you'll need to FXZ back to 905 and then install the 242 update. If you're going to play with a leak that is security locked to disallow you from FXZ'ing to 905, which any ICS update is going to require you to be on, then I HIGHLY recommend you learn what the HoB is doing and learn how to use it. Take some time, read the OP of the HoB, weigh the warnings with the amount of appetite you have for risk, and decide if you REALLY want to go to 242.
