Liberty Gingerbread Official Bug Reports

I installed over froyo. Bootstrap doesn't work. Screen goes black. Tried it twice and had to do a battery pull both times. Prob going back to froyo until I can get themes on gb. Some of the icons in the toolbox wont install as well. The liberty market icon is one. Can't install anything from the rom manager bc it freezes in boot up like I noted above.

Bootstrap installs with the rom so no need to reinstall it. Something went weird with droid x bootstrap and it no longer works on gingerbread. Either just don't install bootstrap (the rom installs it) or use Droid 2 bootstrap. That will fix the reboot and blank screen.

is there a free version of d2 bootstrap cause i bought the dx one and it sux to have to buy the d2 one just for this. is it compatible to re flash the rom?

At one time I got it HERE on Koush's web site. Takes a little digging if I remember right but he did offer it for free once upon a time. He still does enough for the community to more than justify another 2.00 imo. Also liberty rom manager has a bootstrap install option if I'm not mistaken.

I also tried to reinstall /liberty/Nightlies/libertygb.01 (forget the exact name)

and I get:
assert failed: motorola.update_cdma_bp("/tmp/rdl.bin", /tmp/bp.img")
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.

I can still boot but while it is failing on the market downloads the phone froze and I had to pull the battery. I did a reset factory again and tried to re-install libertyGBv.01 and get the same error
I believe the error is because I am installing the full v0.1 for coming from froyo but now I have GB.

I have an update. I have been researching the market download problem and have tried every solution I could find. One of the solutions is to uninstall the market update. This takes me back to 2.3.4. However, when I run the market, I am back to 2.3.6 again. It automatically installs it.

So, I uninstalled the market update again and got back to 2.3.4. Then I logged into the market from my PC (ie from the browser) and installed from there. This installs without running the market and now I have installed Liberty Toolbox and Titanium backup!

Why is 2.3.6 failing? How do I keep it from getting reinstalled? Doing this one by one is going to take a long time lol

Thanks

For now freeze 2.3.6 in TiBu and restore 2.3.4 . Let is know if that works!

Edit: and yes, don't dl the full rom if you have GB!

Aha! Freeze! I didn't think of that. Thanks!

I have my apps back. After I did yet another wipe and followed it with an install of the GBv0.01, meant to install on existing GB ROMS, it started to download my apps (but I did not run the market).

What was odd is that it didn't install all of them. On the android market website, it only showed a few on the "My Market" page. I looked through my TB backup, to see what I had installed, and went through each one and downloaded it through the android market website. That took me hours.

But I think I am now up and running. Thanks for the help!

I'm stoked, but have to hold out for now...the frustrations with the leaked deodexed GB are still too fresh. Keep up the good work jrummy..

I feel your pain as my own wounds are still open from the zillion zip method. Anyways let me give you numbered steps of how easy this was to attain GB perfection.

1. from my "old" GB install. Bought the donate Liberty toolbox and downloaded the froyo upgrade to GB.
2. sbf'ed back to stock .340 and rerooted.
3. from froyo booted into clockwork using D2Bootstrap and wiped data/cache/dalvik/battery stats (was full charge)
4. Installed from SD in liberty folder the Liberty GB v0.1 zip.
5. rebooted....DONE!!!

Initial boot it looked like a boot loop but withing a minute it did boot just fine without issue since. Literally one zip file from froyo rather than 5+ zips before and works 1000x better in both speed and battery. GO FOR IT MAN!

i seaw that liberty toolbox lets you install it, however i think it would instal the droid x one that does not work. can anyone verify?

I don't know if this has been mentioned, I didn't see it in searching this thread. Sometimes when the screen is off, I hit the power button to bring it back up, the screen stays blank but the hard button lights come on. The only way to get back to my home screen is to do a battery pull.

I've had this problem coming from a GB .588 clean install and also coming from Rubix 1.9.7 after doing a data wipe before installing the Liberty GB for froyo.

This and Liberty 2.0.1 are the only roms I have ever had this problem with. Would like some help if anyone has some to give.

Not sure if others have had this problem, but it seems that every time i plug my phone into the wall to charge, it reboots. Doesn't have that problem when i plug it into my computer. On GB liberty obviously :p never had this problem on any rom before

Edit: Been using the phone all day today, and it reboots every time it's plugged in now. kinda sucks =/ any advice?

You really dont need to install bootstrap, go into liberty toolbox>reboot options>reboot bootstrap to get to clockwork. I tested it and made a backup. Although not recommended, dx bootstrap does work but you need to make sure to turn off debugging.

No Facebook contact picture syncing with your Contacts. I think this is related to not being able to setup Facebook/Twitter/etc. through Settings > Accounts, since it immediately closes when you try to go into it, but that's just a guess.

The aforementioned Settings > Accounts immediate close. ;)

No reboot option when holding down power button.

There is a strange visual issue I've noticed. Whenever you try to scroll up or down quickly (or at least at a medium speed) there's a really light blue kind of overlay that shows up on the bottom (or top, depending on which way you're scrolling) taking up maybe the top or bottom 20% of the screen for a second or two. I've taken several screenshots, and it doesn't show in them at all; so it appears to be some sort of actual visual artifact being caused to render on the screen itself, not in the UI. Has anyone else noticed this? -- Ok, after looking at this more closely, it seems to be tied to the scroll bar length. It looks like there is some overlay (mostly transparent) that extends all the way across the screen widthwise that is the size of the scroll bar, and fades the same time the scroll bar does.

Google restored my apps, but not all of them. This is normal, I've never had it get them all; I don't know if it only syncs once a month or some crap, or what, but thought I'd mention it.

PowerAMP works just fine for me.

I haven't tried any themes or anything, because I know they need to be updated. Using LauncherPro. The biggest issue for me by far is the visual issue I mentioned above; it's rather annoying. :)

Keep up the good work, guys; and oh yeah, my Quadrant score gives me wood. Seriously, I saw it and pitched a tent so rapidly I popped the phone out of my hands and it fell onto the ground. 1868 @ 1GHz stock and 2182 Quadrant @ 1.3GHz after running it once. WOW.

Edit: OC'd to 1.4GHz, tweaked my SD cache setting and got up to 2360. 2360 on a Droid X. Jesus.

That blue is normal for GB, same for everyone

Dear God, seriously? It looks like a visual bug. Is there a way to get rid of it? =/

No way that I know of, you kind of get used to it. Ive been on the leak for over 2 weeks now and made the switch last night to liberty.

If you are on stock google gingerbread, it's actually orange instead of blue. It's the new 'overscroll' graphic that was introduced to let you know that you've gone as far as you can go when in a listview.

I'll take your commentary into consideration while working on the default theme - whether it remains, turns gold or goes invisible - is still TBD.

If you could just include an option to disable it or make it transparent, that'd rock. IDK why, but it bugs me, lol. Thanks for consideration, in any case. :)
