Liberty Gingerbread Official Bug Reports

Status
Not open for further replies.
Just a couple occurrences to report if helpful

I've had a few random reboots & FC's.

Same here a little bit.. Froyo Liberty 2.0.1 to GB Liberty. Install went fine and phone running more than fine in terms of performance and I think also battery life. Blurless, bloatless Liberty Goodness. :) Bravo!

Occurrences:
One freeze requiring bat pull.
Unknown cause could be anything so not concerned.

One reboot afte plugging in the the phone. phone on at the time.
Rather odd. Booted fine. just strange.

General Conditions:
Mild or no OC in Quickclock.. Undervolted from quickclock calibration settings. No juice defender or other such installed. LP+ latest .8.5 I think. No odd ball performance-related apps of anykind. Just rom, launcher, typical LP widgets, widgetlocker, widgetsoid.

He's a bug I found. Root explorer won't open, just force closes. Tried reinstalling but same result. And the accounts problem too. other then that my phone is a beast now!

swyped from my DROIDX high on some libertybread.

Have Accounts problem but have no problems at all with root explorer. Did you try clearing the app data and cache for root explorer?

Verizon must have noticed this because now when I use wireless tether it locks me on Verizon's advertisement to pay for the service. Any fixes?

Pretty sure that's going to stay. From what I understand wireless tether is now built into the system. Anyone with more knowledge want to back that up?

Wifi hotspot and usb tethering are built into it. If you go under the network settings and select the mobile wifi hotspot, it'll ask if u want to create a password, etc.. I was able to set it up and use it w/my Mac w/o any problems or ads to pay. I'll let u know when my bill arrives ;)

I also fired up Wireless Tether and I received no notification to pay, so I'm not sure why the OP did..

*edit - I just got a message from VZW about purchasing mobile wifi. Not sure if it's because of wireless tether or the bulit-in hotspot. [face_plain]

Noticed my google voice search doesn't work when I long press the eyeglass button, it just opens my messaging folder

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums

Back to problems with contacts not working. I click on a name and it does the same thing it does with accounts, just goes back to the home screen.

I'm gotta travel this weekend and need the phone to work. I'm gonna bowout of liberty GB for a bit and see if I lose contacts with Rubix blurry.

Love the rom though.

Can someone help me out, I'm a little lost.

I was looking to upgrade from Liberty 2.0.1 to the new Liberty Gingerbread for the Droid 2. The instructions say that you have to be running gingerbread first, then I remembered that the Droid X had a second update leak out (4.5.588). I was wondering if I need to be running the first update to gingerbread for the Droid 2 or if I need to be running 4.5.588? (which as far as I know is just for the Droid X, but I thought I would ask just in case)

On top of that, when the phone's screen goes black, ie display timeout, it will not come back on unless I pull the battery and reboot.

I thought it might have something to do with Launcher Pro, so I am trying to change the default launcher. The only way I knew how was to go to settings/apps/app manage/launcher and clear defaults. The clear defaults option is greyed out.

I started having this issue last night, as well. I had to do a battery pull like six times in a row before I had a working boot. Did removing LauncherPro fix it? I'm using LauncherPro Plus, latest version, and I'd hate to have to give it up.

To be more specific about my problem, the display would turn on but be displaying a completely black screen, and there was no haptic feedback when I tried to swipe to unlock. I couldn't interact with the UI; but, the display would turn off after a few seconds like it normally would when you turn it on w/o unlocking it, so the system seemed like it was running in the background, but you couldn't interact with it. Strange.

Also, anyone else notice the Swype keyboard taking like two full seconds to come up half of the time?

Liberty GB is only for Droid X right now, but for the life of me I can't find where I saw that stated at; it could be elsewhere in this thread, but I'm pretty sure this isn't for D2 yet.

I run LauncherPro+ and have not experienced the screen timeout issues you have. A few other people in the thread have, not sure what you all have in common. I don't think the timeouts are launcher-related. Something is making your system hang when you press the power button. I have had this issue on stock froyo before and it was corrupted data on my sdcard. Not saying that's your case, but something is corrupted.

About Swype, mine also comes up on-demand.

On all previous versions of Liberty I wasn't forced to put in a pin code even though my work required it. I was hoping that would be the same on Liberty GB. Is there a way you can put that back (or remove)? Thank you ;)

If this is the wrong place for that then I apologize...
