anyone have any idea as to why my gmail doesn't update/notify me when I get a new mail? I don't know when/how this started, but I just noticed it; I uninstalled and reinstalled, but I still don't get anything

Gmail > settings > check email notifications

so ive run into a strange issue.. i deciede to chec out the pure theme for liberty 2.0.1

i figured a freshinstall would be best so i booted into clockwork and data wiped/factory restet and wiped cache

i then reflashed liberty 2.0.1 then mounted system then flashed the pure theme.. i then rebooted and everythign went fine

my device booted back up to the start up screen with the little touch me android guy

however when i went to touch the android guy, the emergency call button or the change lanuage button, nothing responsed..

i then reoobted my phone and got it to boot into clokwork and i tried again. same thing..

finaly i just booted into clockwork, flashed just liberty and it is workding fine again

any thoughts?

Its always best to boot into the ROM once before installing a theme. I've had issues due to not doing that before, but now that I learned that, never any issues.

This rom looks fantastic, but I haven't experimented with roms yet, and recently my camera button (aka, the button clockwork uses to click menu options) stopped working... i'm running rooted deodexed droid x with the unofficial 2.2 update (2.3.9.MB810.Verizon.en.US) sooo... anyway i can still get this without replacing my entire phone?

Great job guys. My DX was getting a bit sluggish and one very easy install later (got the donate version) and it is seriously flying. My other DX owning friends will be getting this too I have a feeling...

Also thanks to everyone who has been contributing on this thread - picked up a lot of tips and answers.

If your camera button is not working, you're not going to be able to install the ROM, or worse yet, not be able to uninstall it when you want to take the next OTA. Your best bet is to go back to stock and exchange the phone for another one. I had this happen to me and was able to use ROM Manager to flash back to stock because I couldn't do it in Clockworkmod recovery.

Agreed.. It's good idea to verify at least the rom is up and running with no troubles, even if you hold off on setting up google acct and reinstalling apps.

I've grown to like installing themes post-rom, pre-apps, post-rom-success-verification.

UD theme now.. Love it in Liberty 2.0.1, except some menu's pop up with white text on white background, but it's my only beef. Any other fans?

I am loving this so far. I flashed it last night and I left my phone on over night and I am still at 90% battery. Normally with gb I would go down to 70%. So far amazing battery life. Great job.

Hey I was just resetting my phone back to stock as I need to bring it in for warranty, but my boot logo and animation stayed the liberty ones. Whats the easiest way to change those back to stock?

Thanks!

My camera button stopped working on my X as well, I had to eventually send it back and get a new one. I called VZ and they had me factory reset but that was it. I told the tech guy it's a known issue, just search google for "droid x camera button not working" and you'll see a lot of people have had the same issue.

Yeah, if you can't use the camera button you won't be able to flash any roms or do pretty much anything in recovery mode.

Hey guys, long time XDA member, just signed up here since it appears you have the most support for Liberty 2. I've got a problem, and I have searched all over the net, and can not find a solution.

I was running the Gingerbread leak on my Droid 2. SBF back to factory, re-rooted, and then installed Liberty 2. Figured I would give it a shot since everyone seems to like it, and honestly I was running Fission before and wasn't super impressed.

Everything was working fine and working properly for a couple days, and honestly I was really liking Liberty. Got all my apps downloaded, and got everything set up the way I wanted. At this point I started playing with themes within the Liberty Toolbox. I actually really liked the first one I downloaded "Blacked Out Blue" or something like that. Again everything working fine so I did a backup. I then played around with a couple other themes I thought were interesting. Installed two different ones, and decided I actually liked the first one best, so I just restored my backup. Once I restored the backup everything seemed fine until I noticed that my Market was completely gone.

Did some research online and found a blackmarket.zip file that is up to date. Installed this, and the Market is back, but now FC every time I try to open it. Restored my backup again without the Market, used Root Explorer to delete any Market entries I could find, wiped data/cache, and then tried reinstalling the Market. Still FC every time.

Like I said I have looked all over the place and everyone seems to say just wipe data/cache and install the new Market file. Tried that, still FC. Other than SBF, reroot, and reinstall Liberty (really don't want to have to set everything up again) does anyone have any other ideas to fix this issue?

Thanks!

...my X did that before and rather than do a bunch of research into how to fix the issue, I flashed liberty without wiping; seemed to fix the problem, then I had to go into clockwork and reflash the theme (which is the honeycomb theme) ...that worked for me, but I don't know a way to fix the problem itself - maybe someone else has a solution??

also, I think that I had installed an earlier version of 2.0.1 because I had a number of glitches happening; missing market, FCs and so on ....but then when I did the updated version in the donation toolbox (I assume that the download version on the forum is the same version now), it seemed to fix all my problems, haven't had a problem since

Thanks man. I will give this a shot when I get home later and post up the results.

...so for those who don't twitter and don't follow jrummy's tweets: Looks like GB Liberty will be coming soon "One zip install from Froyo Liberty to Gingerbread Liberty done ;)" - this genius even made it so that one doesn't have to sbf to GB before flashing Liberty GB!

Nice! Looking forward to that. I really liked the leaked GB; the bugs just got to be too much for me. Definitely a move in the right direction for Android from the time I spent with it.
