Liberty ROM - v. 2.0

Hey guys, long time XDA member, just signed up here since it appears you have the most support for Liberty 2. I've got a problem, and I have searched all over the net, and can not find a solution.

I was running the Gingerbread leak on my Droid 2. SBF back to factory, re-rooted, and then installed Liberty 2. Figured I would give it a shot since everyone seems to like it, and honestly I was running Fission before and wasn't super impressed.

Everything was working fine and working properly for a couple days, and honestly I was really liking Liberty. Got all my apps downloaded, and got everything set up the way I wanted. At this point I started playing with themes within the Liberty Toolbox. I actually really liked the first one I downloaded "Blacked Out Blue" or something like that. Again everything working fine so I did a backup. I then played around with a couple other themes I thought were interesting. Installed two different ones, and decided I actually liked the first one best, so I just restored my backup. Once I restored the backup everything seemed fine until I noticed that my Market was completely gone.

Did some research online and found a blackmarket.zip file that is up to date. Installed this, and the Market is back, but now FC every time I try to open it. Restored my backup again without the Market, used Root Explorer to delete any Market entries I could find, wiped data/cache, and then tried reinstalling the Market. Still FC every time.

Like I said I have looked all over the place and everyone seems to say just wipe data/cache and install the new Market file. Tried that, still FC. Other than SBF, reroot, and reinstall Liberty (really don't want to have to set everything up again) does anyone have any other ideas to fix this issue?

Thanks!

...my X did that before and rather than do a bunch of research into how to fix the issue, I flashed liberty without wiping; seemed to fix the problem, then I had to go into clockwork and reflash the theme (which is the honeycomb theme) ...that worked for me, but I don't know a way to fix the problem itself - maybe someone else has a solution??

also, I think that I had installed an earlier version of 2.0.1 because I had a number of glitches happening; missing market, FCs and so on ....but then when I did the updated version in the donation toolbox (I assume that the download version on the forum is the same version now), it seemed to fix all my problems, haven't had a problem since

Thanks man. I will give this a shot when I get home later and post up the results.

You rock this def fixed the Market problem!

Hey guys I bootstrapped the recovery and put the Liberty2.0.1DX.zip on my sdcard, then when I go to select zip to apply it has all my previous folders but NOT the Liberty folder. so now I'm stuck with wiped/reset phone. what're my options?

EDIT: had too many music folders so I couldn't get all the way down the list to select. have liberty installed now and am waiting for it to initialize...

so it will show the Liberty boot-up screen and rotating bird but won't go past that even after waiting for 10 mins. is the problem that I deleted the music files so the backup is screwed up now?

...hmm I wouldn't think so - I've definitely seen a number of folks get stuck in the bootloop....If you still have the liberty install, then deleting music folders wouldn't have corrupted it (unless I'm missing something that someone else knows) .... When you installed, did you follow the 'instructions' word for word? - just checking the easy stuff first, not to insult or anything... just want to make sure that everything is 'wiped' first before installing (factory reset)
...you should be able to get back to the clockwork screen - time for a do over .... install does take a while to start up the first time

pretty sure i followed the instructions fine. ok well after the bootloop i factory reset it, then Liberty started up fine. when I reinstalled ROM Manager it found my backup, but upon booting after restoring the backup it now only goes to very dim 'liberty' screen, nothing else. i can't seem to get to clockwork screen either, just droid system recovery screen. wiping cache/resetting doesn't help.

is it sbf time?

EDIT: decided it was sbf time. back to 2.1 :( but at least i knew how to salvage it haha. thanks anyway!

you may be approaching sbf........I don't know if anyone else in on who may be able to help with this one....I haven't run across this problem, so I know I'm not much help. :( .......on the plus side, I have liberty GB installed and running like a damn champ! .....if it is at all possible, work your way towards that direction...get a working liberty, get the updated toolbox (donate) and install......freaking worth it

Hey guys, I've searched this thread for a bit but haven't had the time to check all the pages, so I'm not sure if this issue has already been addressed.

I've been running liberty 1.5 on my DX for awhile now and love it. I just donated and downloaded the Donation Toolbox. I got the notice for the 2.0.1 when the toolbox opens, but when I click on it I get this message:

"Error: http://jrummy16.com/jrummy/roms/liberty/downloads/updaters/Roms.txt"

I tried going to the URL but the page is down. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

PS: Anything I try to do from the ROM manager gives me a "Error: Protocol not found" message.

PPS: I have tried reinstalling toolbox.

He is having some problems with the server. check market for an updated toolbox for a temp server fix if your using donated toolbox. I dunno about the other one.

No need to panic :) and start erasing things.. i'm sure as soon as the server goes back online, everything will work just fine.

Ah okay that makes sense.

I wasn't thinking about the fact that if his server was down it would also be giving my problems in toolbox. I'll just have to be patient. :)

One server is down, the backup is overstretched and the third is now also buckling under the weight. I'd suggest waiting until tomorrow while things calm down. Last I checked, I had a couple hundred concurrent connections attempting to pull from my ftp mirror.

Home double-tap

I just switched over form Apex, which I've been using for a few months, to Liberty 2.0.1.

I can't seem to find the setting within liberty to change the functionality of home-key double tap. That is, when I hit the home-key twice, I want to specify which action the phone takes.

This setting used to be found in Settings > Applications > Home Key.

That option is not in Liberty, at least not in that location. I've looked throughout various settings and cannot seem to find this option anywhere. Can somebody help me?

Nobody has a solution to this? seems like a pretty basic feature that was either omitted or buried.

Anyone else get random reboots?

I flashed Liberty 2.0 on Friday. It's been running really smooth. This morning though I picked up my phone to check email. I hit the home button as I normally do to turn on the screen and the phone was completely off. I tried pressing the power button to turn it back on but nothing would happen. I pulled the battery and put it back in, then it came back on. Weird.....
