Ok I'm a rookie so what exactly do I do? After the download I used Tom.manager to open or do I need another app to run the install?

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums

Dl the file place on root of your sd card/If you have bootstrap just use that or just reboot into recovery/
Scroll down to the zip install and reboot

Hold on a second - with Droid X and it's locked bootloader, you don't just reboot into recovery. You *have to* go into recovery through Droid X Bootstrap (or, in some cases, through Droid 2 Bootstrap), but the important point is don't just reboot the phone into recovery and try to do things. You could end up with a real problem on your hands.

Hello.

After getting my phone a month ago and rooting it i was able to install this and so i got the paid version.

Now after rooting I can't install it.

I open it, it comes up with "Update ROM" box, I click "Install Liberty 2.0.1", it downloads, I click it so it would "install now", I check both "backup current rom" and "wipe data and cache", (i also tried installing without checking both these things to no avail), I click "OK" to "press OK to reboot into recovery and install Liberty v2.0.1...BUT

it never boots into recovery, just reboots into stock mode like nothing happened...

Boot into recovery via Droid Bootstrap or Liberty toolbox
Go to Nandroid, make your backup
when it completes, wipe data/cache 3 times (for good measure)
install zip from sd card
choose zip from sd card
navigate to the Liberty Folder
navigate to the download folder (if there isn't one, i'm wrong, jump to next step)
navigate to the ROM folder
select liberty
select yes
wait til it finishes
select reboot

It will take quite a bit on first boot.

O.K. folks, having a little bit of an issue and I am sure it is due to my noobish ways but I am a little lost.

I have been rooted, DX bootstrap, on and on, I have flashed other ROMs and have not had the issues I have had with Liberty. So please bear with me...

I have DL'ed the donate toolbox, and installed the rom from there. I have DL'ed it and added it to the SD card and flashed it that way following everything to the T and for some odd reason, I can NOT restore my contacts. Again, it is probably something I am missing or not doing right but when I touch set up the droid after a flash, set up the gmail account, it goes right to the home screen for Liberty. I tried to go into the accounts section of the phone and the only ones there are 'Corporate', 'Facebook', and 'Google'

I have used 'Backup Assistant' but it does not seem like it is on the Liberty ROM. Am I missing something?

Also, there is no mail clients there. Again, I am sure I am just missing something.

I have fixed a lot of the little issues by reading every single post off this 84 page thread and agree with all of you that with all the ROMs I have tried, I certainly think Liberty is the best I have seem and think it is the fastest my phone has been. But if I can get these two little things fixed, I think I will be quite happy.

Thanks for the help.

Liberty doesn't use backup assistent I don't think. You have to export your contacts to your sd so when you flash you just import. That's what I did and it worked great. Also I believe you can get your contacts online with backup assistent and save to sd. It was easier for me just to export. That way I always have the file

I'm having this same issue. Thought is was just me at first. Anyone get back to you, besides posting on here?

How does everyone compare this to Rubix Focused?? Liberty is my third rom so far and as much as i like how stable and customizable it is, I feel like Rubix was way faster?

I admit I was so happy with 1.5 that I was leary of going to 2.0 when I heard about the market issues and various force closes, etc. I was quite happy with 1.5, everything was flowing along smoothly. No force closes or issues of any kind other than an occasional reboot.

I waited until 2.0.1 came out and read all the threads about it, finally taking the plunge this past weekend. So far so good, everything is working great. I always stay with Liberty on my DX, it just works and the support from the libert community is awesome.

Thank you !!!!

Hey jrummy, is there any way to add the song name to the music controls in the lockscreen in liberty? I am running 2.0.1 w/ Redux. It's my second ROM and while I've had some problems, I finally have just about EVERYTHING fully customized and I love it. This is about the only thing that I can think of that I'd like to see as an addition to this awesome ROM. Sometimes my keyboard feels like it's a little unresponsive when i'm typing fast, though i think it could be because i don't have a screen protector and moisture from my hand causes my fingers to sorta stick. I dunno if you saw my other message with some other issues I had with the ROM earlier but I resolved them. If there is a way to add the song name to the lockscreen music controls now that info would be much obliged!
