Manually Update to 2.0.1

I had problems with firefox as well.. I downloaded it in with IE.. update went well.. Took all of 5 minutes.. very happy with the responsiveness

Worked fine, seems a little bit more smoother less laggy when doing things like scrolling and such... i really dislike the Lock screen old one was better. The home screen still laggs so i guess its back to open home =| anyone know how to change normal home default to open home? i must of clicked use Home as default always.

just follow the steps. and make sure the update.zip isnt like renamed update.zip.zip. cuz if windows is set that way on ur system it will mess it up. so if you rename it to update and hit enter and it goes to just like unknown. then add the zip. if not. then dont add the zip. because the first time i did it. it said it was not able to install cuz of not having the right file name. just fixed that and installed it and it works great. hope i helped :)

why is it a good idea?

Because had you waited for the OTA update, the file would have been removed automatically after the upgrade. The next update that comes out will also put an update.zip file on your sdcard and if you already have one there it may not overwrite it...

i see..... damn this forum must be like. packed with people always on it. posts are like once a second!

its a lively place!

home++ seems a lot faster.. Im gonna give it some time before i brag though. What happens when the OTA actually comes?

your phone doesn't get it... it's already there :)

seriously tho a few pages back in this thread someone answered this intelligently (more so than i). the update is recognized on your phone so there for there is no need to have it 'pushed' to you device.

Please help! How do you put it in the "root directory" of the sd card. please use newb terms.

Connect your phone to your PC with the cable, then swipe the notification bar and select USB, then click on Mount. Then browse to the phone from my computer and copy the update.zip file to the base directory.

Then simply follow the instructions.
