Manually Update to 2.0.1

Didn't work for me it keeps saying no such file.

you may need to just rename the file to "update". Its already a zip file, so renaming it to "update.zip" actually makes it update.zip.zip......
Forgot to make tihs point as well.

If you don't see a .ZIP extension at the end of the file DO NOT add one. Only add the .ZIP on the end if there was one before.

Yup. To clarify why this is true, if the extensions are hidden; adding .zip to the end of the filename will cause the file to be named "update.zip.zip", thus when it searches for "update.zip" it will be unable to find it.

It worked for me. I noticed the Power Control widget is not black instead of white. I also like the old unlock better.

I kind of like waiting... sort of that "I am next in line."

Plus, I bet I would screw something up.

*runs off to check phone*

looks like after all that, I still have update.zip on my SD card.. still the same size too... I suppose I could email it to someone!

Why do I keep getting a security warning about the sites certificate???????

the sites security certificate has expired. I can confirm it is a good patch and not a virus. I have it and have uploaded to my device. rebooting as we speak

Why do I keep getting a security warning about the sites certificate???????

Because its a HTTPS site with NO cert. its a standard warning. Thank about this its HTTPS and there is no log in AND it doesn't ping to a google server.. Might make you think hehe.

Have an issue:

Only 4 of my contacts are showing up, and I think it got them from Facebook. But if I do a search for a contact it will show them. Or if I dial a number it will show the name...

10x easier than i thought
guess my brightness was broken on the other version because the screen back light was so inconsistent. so far me likey

anyone comment on the security warnings from the link?

It's a standard warning for when there's no security certificate. I get the same thing when I try to log into my router on Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. It really doesn't mean anything.

just odd... lil leary of it... no one thought to mention it in any posts? No one found this odd?

no one really thought of it because most people have thier file manager configured to show extensions.....
So when I renamed mine, I wiped out the whole name it was originally and rewrote "update.zip" over the top...

But for someone who can't see extensions, they don't know the file is already a zip file... so when they name it "update.zip" they can't see the hidden extension thats really making it .zip.zip.
