Manually Update to 2.0.1

I can verify the battery does last longer. I've had the phone off the charger for 5.5 hours and still have a 100 charge! I've been texting, checking email, using wifi, brightness turned all the way up, and all the usual stuff I do through out the day. Thank you Google!!!

PS. Update also fixed my Corporate Calendar!
Wow That's emazing battery life, i took my phone off charge 6 hours and a half ago , received 1 voice call, nothing else, just checked , it says :"90%"

Sorry to post a lot but before I wiped I noticed apps were saying they had updates but when dl'd it was ver. I already had, on several apps. Anyone?

I noticed the pre-installed facebook widget is having issues. I get an error everytime I try to post an updated status.

On the widget it just says to try again later, if I open the app fully up and try updating on the feed screen it gives me the 200 error about not having the right permissions. Last night I checked application permissions on the computer and reset them and it worked on my phone, but when trying to use the app on my phone today its having the issue again.

Seems pretty whacky...

I did that also it just locks up at that stupid Motorola logo.

The only reason I'm even trying to update manually is it won't pull the OTA update. It crashed in the middle of it 3 days ago and ever sense says no updates are available.

Did you have a weak 3g connection?

Try pulling the battery, rebooting and go into your about phone--->system updates
and see if it gives you a prompt to start over.

The majority of these Droids are lemons. I'm just going to take mine back. I've been reading too many forum posts about problems that aren't fixed until the phone is swapped.

If your going to do that.. you have little to lose....

Seems I held the X button on the physical keyboard and then held down the power button and continued to hold it down till I saw the triangle....

Just going my memory that is......

Seems I read if your on an intermittent 3G connection and loose it during the update it could cause a problem and they recommended to try again and start over.
A wifi connection was the best choice to have during the update or else a reliable 3g.

Its hard to know if folks have lemons or if there is some app thats poorly written causing conflicts thats installed.....

But during the initial bootup with the X and power button.. no apps are running yet, so that may be a mute point concerning this issue.

sorry your having all this problem......

You had to return your Droid and yet still say Motorola doesn't have tons of lemons? This is beta software at best they released with this phone. I know crappy software when I see it. I had an Storm 1 and could tell right away that OS was garbage.

The Droid software worked perfectly. I had a slight clicking sound in the earpiece where you listen to people on calls. It was a defective piece or a short. The phone they replaced it with a few days later was perfect. They said they had barely replaced any.
