Manually Update to 2.0.1

Do I call verizon first and maybe do the exchange through the mail, or do I need to go to a Verizon service center and if so, is it hard to convince them of the issues since they are kind of random and may be hard to prove.

You can still get it serviced at a genuine Verizon service center.
You will have to get something they can reproduce normally... I think you can take it back unconditionally up to 30 days from when you bought this phone, if they won't give you another.. you could go to another service center and get a new one....

Its usually best to call ahead and talk to someone that tells you what you need to hear.. take down their name and when you go there, talk to them so they can pull strings for you.

Oh god yes! That helps so much! I called customer service and had them pull the strings for me.

2.0.1

Received new update today,... ewwwww,... you always want what you don't have,.. yesterday, I couldn't wait to get the update,.. after receiving it,... I want it to go back like it was. :motdroidhoriz:

My battery life sucks on the new version. Wont last through the day anymore

Okay for vista uses as well as trying to explain this a little better to others. Don't just drag and drop that address to your desktop you need to open and save to your computer or on your desktop. Once save to computer rename the zip file to just update and then drag that file into phone once its hooked up into your pc. If you need to put your viewing into detail so you can put the file on top of all folders not in folders. This should help some of you that are having trouble.

I have to agree. Earlier I posted that I thought the battery life was better, but having the update for a few days now I can tell the battery life is actually a lot worse. I haven't done much with the phone today and I'm down to 30%. Only been off the charger for about 9 hours now.... this is terrible.

I had to reset my brightness setting after the update...

I got to work at 7.00am and its about 5pm now.. I still have 70% left... a few phone calls, browsing and messing with pics... a couple of updates and messing with shortcuts... no complaints here.....

Hmm. Well I don't know but I think mine's improved vastly. Now I can browse in school, on WiFi and get home without my battery in the orange. Still 60% hwne I get home.

sometimes changes, take time to adjust to, I've had it for 10 hours now,.. and I have adjusted,...It's great!

Man I had the wifi and bluetooth off all day and only made one call... and at 4:30 today was at 30%

Thats just too crazy how some do so well while others don't.

I assume you have done a full reboot with battery pulled.

I did a 12 hour shift today and at the end of that 12 hours.. still had 70% left.
I had wifi and gps off but talked, browsed and played on the phone a fair amount today.

I think what someone said was right.... the battery acts like it has more capacity and it could be from charging less fast.

Before the update, I could do my 12 hours shift and at the end of the day I would have from 30 - 50% left and on one hour drive home I would charge it in my car and by the time I got home it would be anywhere from 90 - 100% charged.

Now today I had 70% left and on that same one hour drive home I was only 90% charged.

So I went for 12 hours and only used 30% charge and in one hour charged it all back up except for 10%....... Not bad.

I would suggest you turn your phone off and take the battery out and leave it out for several minutes and fire it all back up..... otherwise if you still have problems I would be quite upset and ask for another.

I'll give that a shot! I'll try anything at this point :)

OK. I have confirmed battery issue, my friend rejected upgrade, we both wiped our phones and didn't sync so my phone 2.0.1 his 2.0.0 all settings match, mostly we left them be in airplane mode so no calls would corrupt data, we got on browser equally and downloaded a app or 2, same on both phone, by the time my phone was in yellow, he had 70% still, I've said the same to Google in hopes of a resolution. Just BC everyone is excited about new features don't be so quick to post your cheers. I hear there are others with battery issue? Since not all are I will be headed to vzw for my 3rd Droid, and keeping 2.0 till stable upgrade, BC battery is huge for me. If moto offered spare battery charger I'd be on it like a hobo on a Ham sammich.
