thank for the quick reply...another Q. what time does it start...12 midnight eastern ..because I'm west coast...I like to know....thanks again

As this is still rumor, I thought I'd share...

Unless Amazon further discounts the LG Revolution tomorrow (as is rumored... we'll just have to see), I'm going to buy my phone at Best Buy using their price-match policy to price-match the best deals I'm seeing, which are for Walmart. Wal-Mart Connection Center
I'm seeing the X2 for $149 and Revolution for $179! (Renewing a line on a family plan.)

Best Buy is my first choice as they price-match, have a 30-day return policy, and don't have contract additions. Plus, I may want to do their insurance program. However, if Amazon wants to save me another $179, or even $100, then I can handle their additional 6-month concurrent contract.

Any of those a glabal phone? I have a reporter friend who's wanting to upgrade to a Droid type phone and it seems only " Droid Glabal " 3G is out there with Verizon. ?

I assume it's 12:00am EST, but could be PST I guess... Depends where Amazon is based, but I thought it was based in like NYC... Could be wrong.

All of Verizon's 4G LTE phones have SIM cards, which don't necessarily mean they're global, but if/when Verizon LTE and other global companies' LTE expands on a global scale, I mean it seems likely eventually LTE will be global.

But they cannot currently globally roam because that's 3G and the SIM card is for 4G.

do you think the free phones are available to each member of a family plan. if so i'm getting a charge and a revolution. there also seems to be some question whether its available to those doing early upgrades as opposed to new contracts.

You can get as many free phones as you like, so long as you have as many lines available for upgrade. Actually if you click on the "learn more" when starting the Amazon Wireless purchase process, it says it verifies your upgrade eligibility, I'm concerned because I have an upgrade on a line I literally JUST UPGRADED (Droid X) in December...Perhaps a Verizon mishap.

Either way, do you know if Verizon emails you based on your Verizon account, or does Amazon just notify you- my Verizon and Amazon email addresses are different lol

As for the second part of your question, based on how outside companies (such as BestBuy Mobile) determine your upgrade eligibility, I would assume you just need an upgrade, regardless of the lines' current contract status (like maybe it's in the middle of a contract- like me). But like I said, I don't know for sure, I'm just looking at it logically.

And I don't know how informed you are on the specifics of the three 4G LTE phones (Revolution, Thunderbolt, Charge) but though I should let you know why I'm going with the Thunderbolt.

Most memory (32GB SD + 8GB internal = 40GB)

Kickstand

Best Cameras (8.0MP rear beats Revolution, 1.3MP front beats Charge)

HTC Sense 2.0 (I think it's BA lol..especially compared to Samsung TouchWiz
and LG's Optimus)

Thunderbolt is the only of the three that has simultaneous voice + data over
3G (yes, 3G)[I actually could be wrong here, but I don't see the feature
on the other two]

Just a quick note I was reading in the other thread that you CANNOT upgrade a line, and transfer the phone to another line. I would like someone to prove me wrong bc on verizon you can do this fine, but I'm just warning people that I read that you cannot do this.

im not real techy compared to most of you guys but i've had a rooted D1 since Nov '09. and have learned a little from that. i found out from amazon that while verizon is offering me an update now, i don't qualify with amazon until my 20 mo. date -july 14th. so i'm going to try and get my son the revolution he is set on. of the three 4g phones currently offered by verizon ithink no matter how many people you polled a third would go with TB, a third with LG and a third with the charge and i could be happy with any of them

I think the the Revolution has more.

Kickstand

Not a big deal IMO esp.when you can't use it with the plug in.

I think the Revolution has a better camera even though it is 5MP vs 8. It seems to capture fainter detail better.

I think the LR skin is fine. It is kind of nice to be able to categorize apps and stuff.

Don't know about the Simultaneous Voice and Data over 3G. That is petty cool if does. I'm in a 4G area and it is not a big issue.

The LG's screen is better than the the HTC IMO.

Well they both have 4.3" displays lol...but I agree, the Revolution's does look bigger, probably because there's less of the chassis surrounding the screen.

And technically all "transferring" and upgrade to another line does is extend the contract on whatever phone line the upgrade was transferred from. So just upgrade a line that can be upgraded and activate it on whatever line you want, same thing as transferring the upgrade.

Actually I am looking to upgrade a line that is currently under contract, I can only assume a Verizon mishap. Nevertheless, I'm about 6 months into my contract, if I upgrade (which Amazon confirms I can do) will the contract end two years from tomorrow or will it end two years after my current contract ends?

Whaaaaaat?.....that doesnt seem right.... if you upgrade through amazon..you cant switch?
