MattyP's .215 Leak Classroom

The rooting itself will not improve the battery, but things you can do after you root will improve battery life, and give you more control over your phone. It's like having administrator permissions on a computer. ;)
sorry...things I do after rooting will make it eeeven better...gotcha

I guess I'm gonna go for it (I think it's your avatar...it has me nodding my head yes lol)

I promise I look nothing like my avatar, I'm much taller :icon_ devil:

And before you do it, we need to make sure you're ready, it's very easy. I'll be happy to walk you through it :)

Yes please...get me ready...what would you like me to do?

Are you doing this on a laptop or a PC?

Does your computer recognize your phone when you connect it with the USB cable?

Which version of the utility did you download? And did you fully extract the .zip file? (It will not work unless you extract it to a folder, your desktop is as good a place as any)

Ok ... hook the phone to your PC and make sure it's recognized. Pull down your notification bar and you will see "USB Connections" ... tap that and set it to "MTP Media Device" ... NOT USB MASS STORAGE

Let me know when you're ready. It's going to be very easy, I promise. :)

Ok here we go, you are going to root your phone. This won't hurt a bit. :)

Now, open the folder you extracted the .zip file to on your PC ... and click on the "DroidRazrUtility.bat" to start the utility.

A window will open, with yellow lettering, and it will say "Press any key to continue", press the spacebar to go to the next screen.

The next screen will have blue lettering, with a menu of choices. You will choose option 2 (Ice Cream Sandwich Root 4.0.4)

Press "2" and hit enter. Your phone will reboot TWICE during the process, do not do anything until it is done.

I'll be right here. :)
