how do i tell if i am running a custom ROM? I am pretty sure I am (just bought the phone, ran RootCheck, says its rooted)

RootChecker Basic says "Current Device: GT-l9300" on a razr maxx???

I have rooted a HTC rezound before, but that is the extent of my experince...

PLEASE HELP!!! lol... Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I think you would remember... but there are many ways to disable/re-enable bloat, do you have a root file browser installed or an app that freezes bloat?

Hmm, try redownloading the file again, possible you got a bad download, also, make sure to NOT rename the file.

Hmm, not sure what it doesn't like. Maybe someone else will come around and point you in the right direction.

In the mean time, read around a little if you want, see if you can find what's up.

Or you can always try a factory reset or restoring the factory image so the phone is bare bone stock.
