MattyP's .215 Leak Classroom

You're welcome tieman. Keep in mind that it will put you back to complete stock...like doing an fdr...so make sure you backup what you want to save.

I am trying to fastboot back to 6.16.211 using the 1-81 utility (I am running Fedora 17). It has been running for about 20 minutes now. Is this normal or is it safe to assume it's not working?

Try the steps here:
Going back to stock .211:
*On your pc, download and install Matt's Razr Utility 1.8 or 1.81 or 1.82. You can find 1.82 here:
Droid Razr Utility 1.82 [Windows] For Verizon Droid Razr And Droid Razr Maxx Only - DroidRzr.com
*Extract that utility to its own folder on your computer...you must extract the file on your pc. It will not work from your phone.
*After the utility is extracted, go to the Motorola drivers folder in the utility and make sure you have the latest Motorola drivers installed on your pc.
*make sure your phone is set to usb debugging mode (menu>system setting>developer options).
*Power your phone off. Then power your phone on while holding down your power, the volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously.
*Connect your phone to your computer with the factory supplied usb cable.
*On your phone select AP Fastboot, then in the utility select option 1..."restore phone to stock .211. Do not unplug the usb cable until the utility finishes.
*When completed your phone should reboot to stock .211.
*After running option 1, restart phone to make sure all is fine.

I tried Matt's Utility 1.81 again. Still got the same error message. Tried to update from external source and it gave me a status 7. Did a factory reset and checked for root using Root Checker by joeykrim and it showed the phone not rooted. Once SuperSU was reinstalled I checked there and it said it was missing the binary. My phone said it was rooted (showed the 1/1 for rooting). Tried to go to the safe side with safe strap and no all I have is a blank screen. Won't do anything. Downloading Matt's DroidRazrUtility now. How can I get my phone back up so I can try to fix it through that?

I'm having a problem with this .215 leak update. I've downloaded the file from mattys link with my phone to my internal file then moved it to ext. SC Card. I've tried twice to dowmloading the file going through the simple steps with no problem BUT when i try and download the file it starts up the process when it reads the file it aborts and says E:signature verification failed !
My phone is stock, with ICS . PLEASE HELP ! Will take any suggestions!!

I used the 1.82 Utility on stock RAZR. It installed perfectly. However, after, the battery life was awful. I did a full restore, then followed battery calibration lesson (on this board) and my phone works like a charm. Folks on this board are great, 'Tis, Josh, and Fox are very helpful. Without them I would still be running old junk!

Guys! I downloaded Utility to my PC, the to my phone. Perhaps it works better with expansion. Did u make sure u have latest Moto drivers installed.

Worst case scenario you can use matts utility to fastboot back to stock as herlon suggested, then try re flashing .215. I'm assuming that you are running stock ice cream sandwich .211 right now?

.215 Leak download still not working

Thanks for everyones suggestions but I'm still getting the same message. I put off trying this for a while (months)
but after following matty's classroom thread for a while it looked pretty simple and in fact it is now that I've went through the steps 4 times, 2 from my pc download deleting that one and downloading the file from my phone directly to my internal storage then moving the file to the extenal SC Card and trying that twice.
I've never seen anyone else on matty's thread have this problem ( E:signature verification failed ) is there away to turn off signature verification and another question I have is something I've read on this and other forums about this problem, some say to make sure and download into the root of your external sd card, what the heck does that mean, how would i know if i did or not?
Hope someone can come up with a answer to this problem, would really like to have and enjoy this upgrade on my razr maxx!
Thanks Guys !

The root of your sdcard would making sure that the file is not on any folders. When you look at what's in your sdcard, all the files that are in the root of your sdcard are those files that are listed at the bottom after all the folders.

Make sure when you copy the file to your sdcard, that you are not trying to open it (extract it, unzip it). Leave it there, as is. Then proceed to install it from the recovery memory of your phone.

Failed .215 leak download

First thanks for your reply ..
When I open My Files App and look at the File Manager rthere are four choice, Internal ph. storage, SDCard, and Moto Cast Comp. When I open SDCard it shows me all the files stored there, the last one is the zip file in green with the name Blur_Ve_ under the file and no sir I'm not touching or tapping this file which I assume would open it or extract or unzip it.
I'm a little confused when reading your reply when you explain that all files that are in the root of your SDCard are those files that listed at the bottom after all the folders, after what folders, all i see are 18 files with the last one being the one I'm trying to use.
I'm also concerned that after reading alot of other messages on this thread .215 leak that no one else had a failed message like the one I'm getting. E:signature verification failed.
The steps Matty P. has set up are very simple and I've went through now 4 times with the same result.
The last 2 times were from a download from my razr phone to my internal storage then moved to SDCard file. you would think it would be a clean download and move with that file.
There must be something I'm not seeing or doing correctly.
Thanks Lester !

Wow! I just remimbered, I lied about not touching that file after the dowmload. When it downloads to my internal storage to move it to my SDCard file I read were the easy way was to press and hold the zip file until then hit move, then hit back button until i see your options for SDCard then hit move again. It works as far as moving the file internally to my SDCard.
Is there a better way to move the file after download to my SDCard file with out touching it.
Again Thanks !

Yes Lester, you definitely have the file in the right place (root) and understand not to open it. What is odd is that you have no folders and I wonder if the problem is that you sdcard needs to be formatted for your phone. Doing this automatically adds some general folders on your card.

Again, I don't know if that is the problem but you may want to try it. Save the contents of your card on a pc, format your sd card (which will erase everything on the card). Restart your phone, check to see if you have folders on your card. Move the files back onto your sdcard.

Yes, it gave me that error on my phone when installing from the zip on the external SD card.

I tried to use another file by the same name from 4Speed (I think that was the site) and I ended up upgrading to the .214 leak. I didn't want that so I put it back to the stock .211 then tried Matty P's course 1 again. This time it worked like a charm. Don't know what the problem was but it works now.......

Lester I wonder if it is something with the .211 version you have on your phone. When you updated from GB to ICS did you do a FDR..reset of your phone? Seems like Wolfe was getting the verification error back when he tried going to .215.

How can you tell that I have no folders?
I noticed going back to the begining of this thread page 1, you were the first student in this class and your first question for matty was were to place the zip download on my sd card or my ext-sd card. Mattys answer was it goes on your sd card ext. the removable one or it won't work.
What the heck is sd card-ext and how do you get there. I don't see that on mattys original instructions.
Sorry for all the Newbie questions!!
