Missed Call for the Motorola Droid

Love this program. Only thing that it is missing for me is being able to split texts longer than 160 characters to phones outside of Verizon. Any chance of that happening?

You can use either Handcent SMS or chompSMS to split a text longer than 160 characters.
Can you combine the programs? The features in missed call are enough for me (don't need all the different displays of messages, I just like knowing who I'm getting a call/text from without opening my phone through the vibrate tone and diff color LED). I'll look into it if I can use both programs combined unless I hear from someone on here first.

Am I the only one scratching his head when reading your post? :p

I dunno what SMS length has to do with the missed call app. All miss call app does is provide reminders to notifications. It's not a sms gui replacment app.

Yeah... sorry about that confusing post lol. I was pretty high at the time and it made perfect sense but now I really don't know what I was thinking. Ignore plz.

I've browsed this thread and maybe I missed it but will there every be an option or a way to go directly into a message? When I have a text come in and I pull down the notification bar and tap the SMS it just goes to the Inbox. I find this somewhat annoying because I would like to go into that message thread.

Just a thought, not sure if this is possible or already discussed and I missed it.

Still love the app, 5 stars!

Ahh I see :) Well I do have a few threads/messages saved in the inbox so I guess that is why. Is there a way to force it into the new message and still keep old messages?

Hmm well if you have old messages that are unread they should not interfere with it. What I meant was: You got 2 new messages in 2 different threads. In this case the item in the status bar takes you in the overview. If you got only one new message or more new messages in the same thread the icon should take you directly to the thread.

Regards

See the situation I was dealing with is this:

4 threads in inbox with NO unread messages
1 new message comes in (from a recipient that already has a thread started)
Pull down notification bar and tap message
Goes to inbox, not direct to message

Now pulling down the notification bar does show the message, or at least a preview, does that consider the message read? I don't think it does because when it takes me to the inbox the thread with the new message shows up highlighted in gray.

It only gets marked as read when you really enter the thread and read the message. In your case Missed Call should go directly into the message thread. (seems to be a problem with Android 2.0) I have to look at that bug.

Well I just got a new text with no other messages in the Inbox and it went directly to that thread. I also did a test and sent a text to myself and even with another thread in there it still went directly to the message.

I will carry on with normal usage and see if I can get it to happen again and note the conditions. Thanks for all your hard work!

Do you have other applications you are working on at this time? The quality of your stuff is just great!

At the moment I am searching for a job as Android/Web developer. It is not really easy to get one. :(
But I'd like to say thank you for your report. It would be awesome if you could test the bluetooth service, since I don't have a Droid to test the feature.

I want to be able to change the led blink interval.

I have to tell you that the Motorola Droid ignores the interval settings. So this feature is not possible for the Droid. (at the moment it is exclusive to the HTC G1 and the myTouch)

Well I haven't been able to hook up my bluetooth headset yet but I will try and remember tomorrow. I did turn the service on and the led, vibrate, and sound all worked just fine. Also if the bluetooth is active (no device connected) and you change the led color in the settings you do have to turn it off then on again to see the change. Not a big deal but just thought you should know. I will turn everything on tomorrow and connect a device and see how that goes. I will activate the led/vibrate/sound for both.
