Motorola Droid Battery Life Poll

When I first got the Droid, I was concerned about the battery life not being sufficient. That was because I was thrilled with having my first smart phone and using it constantly. I was killing my battery in 5-6 hours tops the first week or so. Now that I'm not always using it, I've doubled it to the 10-12 hour category.

I work 6 10hr days a week from 4pm to 2am from the time I wake up and unplug from charger to time I plug in I usually get 16hrs but that's no surfing or running apps. I have to charge more than a few times a day on days off

From the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep I'd say I get about 15 or so hours on a full charge with medium use. I text a lot, check email, Facebook, Twitter and listen to music every once and awhile.

I got it with the expectation that with my use even making it through an entire day on one charge would be a blessing. This phone does A LOT, so I respect the battery life for what it is.

I dont heavily use my phone and only see about 8 hours of battery life with use, hmmm it doesnt look like my apps are draining power, any ideas?

Do you have your brightness all the way up? That's a pretty big drain. Go under your phone status and check to see what's using the most battery.

of course it depends on what you use it for.....but if i dont play parallel kingdom or navigate (both use gps and data and power!)...i can come home after a 10 hour day of normal talk and surfing heavy with about 60% left. totally depends on many factors...

too many ups and downs to poll for me... =)

I'm overclocked to 1 GHz. Light user during the work day, heavy in the evening and on weekends. I have touchdown and weatherbug running. I get around 24 hours or more during the week, but only about 16 hours on weekends. I don't play much music on it.

I can get around 18 hours out of a full charge which I am happy with I don't need much more and I use the web alot plus around an hour of phone calls and some games so I am happy with it.:)

Battery life

I've been very disappointed because whether I use the phone or not, whether I've used the apps or not, the phone drains completely in under 12 hours. If I have used an app or the phone itself, it drains even more quickly. My work day is long, and it is frustrating to have my droid run out of energy before I do!

Something is very wrong here. You need to check the battery, because this is baaad.

I am an average user. Bluetooth, music, net, text, calls. No twitter or anything, I run beautiful widgets, along with a few others, I work in a building with poor reception, so depending on where I am my phone has to search for signal, especially if I'm in the edit suite. I unplug at 7:10a and plug in at 10-2am (depends on the day) and never have less than 30% left. I wake up and it's projected for me to get 40 hours of battery life. I'm no power user or anything, but that's a fair battery, I'm not going to push for 2 days on a charge or anything, but if I had to, I could.

I use my Droid as a phone morning and afternoon. do alot of surfing at lunch time and at night. I'd say I'm a medium user. I've had it about a month now and in the beginning it would last overnight but now in the morning it says I'm 15% low and I have to charge it every morning. So I guessed at about 13 hrs. or so.

Wow, I wish I could do that. I run very few apps/widgets on my phone. And though I've overclocked, the battery life has remained much the same. I've been projected (by using battery left) to have about 11 hours of battery, and that's with minimal usage. I find myself always charging it, otherwise I can't tell you how many times I've ended up with a completely dead phone. At work, I get bad reception, but I also rarely use it for anything, and it remains in sleep mode. I have setCPU set at 250MHz/550MHz when in sleep mode, so it shouldn't be any different than yours or any other stock phone. I've never had it show more than 13 hours of battery life since the day I got it either. :(
