Motorola Droid Bionic Joins the Droid Family!

I am humble and mostly just want... TO LEAVE EVERYONE IN MY DUST BWAAAHAHAHAHA lol jk!

I mostly just want a good mix of speed and amazing battery life, the main reason I OC is to keep up when in use and save battery when not. Initially I'll be in no hurry to OC (just UC) but think about it... when you OC it'll do at least TWICE as good as it does now due to it affecting 2 cores hehehe, just some food for thought :P

I used to be in the camp on locked bootloader = no go but with these new devices the hardware far exceeds my "need" to theme and ROM an Android device. I'll just grab me ADW with Koveleski's Dark Edge theme and I'll be good to go. Overclocking holds no interest for me neither after I have my hands on the Nvidia Tegra 2 Bionic. Overclock? What for? : )

I couldn't agree more CK. Since I got my X I have found the stock clock speed to be sufficient for any thing I need to do. Overclocking would just be over kill on the X, IMO, and a waste of battery. Now transfer that to a dual core phone and it just becomes such a minuscule gain that its not even worth it.

Will wireless tether work on the Bionic in spite of the locked bootloader? This is kind of a deal breaker for me.

Wireless tether works on the DX and D2 and they are both locked down - so chances are it will work on the Bionic - if locked

Yea. Its most likely going to be rooted whether locked or not. I honestly don't care too much about the whole ROM thing anymore. If I get the urge, I'll do something with my D1.

I just want a sleek build quality phone, with a powerful processor, plenty features and good battery life. That is all I need.

I have a STRONG feeling they are going to release the iphone and the Thunderbolt on February 3rd...Just a gut feeling.

And I'm going with the Thunderbolt.

Not sure why this is in the Bionic thread, but with no HDMI and no dual core I will pass on the Thunderbolt.

Yea, the TV Out mirroring a couple of the Galaxy S phones had, I wanted that bad. I will actually get a HDMI cable now...lol

I know alot of folks that got the HDMI app for the Droid X and used it will appreciate this whenever they get their next phone. Great work by that developer, but it was a small handicap with it not being able to do mirroring... even tho he worked around that.

Has anyone figured out of the Bionic is 1 or 2ghz? I wish it had the slide out Qwerty still, otherwise I'd be all over that. Man if this were a year ago I would have been drooling over the iPhone but I am a Android guy now 100%.

It's been stated everywhere that this is a Dual Core 1GHz chipset. (two cores both running at 1GHz max)
