Motorola Droid Bionic Joins the Droid Family!

the only other thing I wonder is I live out in the sticks. I'm in between Boston, Worcester, Providence area but my town itself is a dinky town. who knows when I will see LTE speeds where I live. I'm really curious to see what the data plans for this will look like. I hope I can keep my current 3g plans if no LTE is availalbe right away where I live.

i think the error in the original posting of the info on Bionic stemmed from the fact that the Atrix has 1gb of RAM (512 for the phone, and 512 for the laptop add on feature). but since the Bionic will not have that feature, it "only" has 512mb...

this guy on engadget:

hardware is only as fast as the software its optimized for. android so far is not made for dual cores. also, android is bloated, and the multitasking memory management is horrible, which means itll still be slow. my samsung focus is faster than this phone, and it has a snapdragon. thats because wp7 is fully optimized for that chip. android is not optimized for any chip, therefore it will always be a slow laggy pos.

a search box taking up half the screen? what a excuse of a UI. this is what happens when you have an advertising company (google) making software, it tries to force you to use google at the UI's expense. noone wants a lame search box.

this phone's edges look thick, round, and fugly. the back is just disgusting. my samsung focus is laughing at the thickness.

The Engadget dude seems like an exaggerate doofus. I have had the gTablet for over two months now and Tegra 2 spanks the Droid X and Incredible. PSX games that plays slow on those devices are smooth with the gTablet and ditto for Flash performance too.

Tegra 2 performance with Android 2.2 makes those devices seem like the G1 (had that too) in comparison. This is NOT an exaggeration.

The "Engag" dude is also trying to take his own conjecture and position it as fact. Tech rube.

The Bionic looks sick! If the bootloader really is going to be unlocked, it will completely justify my choice to stick with my OG Droid for as long as I have. For some reason, I'm still partial to having a physical keyboard, but se la vie I guess. Can't stand in the way of progress. Looking forward to the summer release.
