Unless I miss my guess, this looks like the same case I wrote a review for in #203. Pictures are much better, but same case. Overall, pretty good value, and the rubberized finish makes it easy to grasp, just clips on the Droid, easy to remove, but also not much in the way of screen protection, and the fit'n'finish are not perfect. More details in #203. it will be interesting to get a second view, when markmicallef gets his.

I just got the Body Glove case for my droid and i like it alot however it is such a pain to take on and off, so if you have the car mount or multimedia station it's a mission to pop the body glove off the phone for you to use the other mounts. Anyone else experiencing that?

I ABSOLUTELY experienced that.

Wife and I both upgraded to Motorola Droids yesterday, and really didn't want to leave the store without cases for them. The BodyGlove was all they had in stock, so we bought them.

I found that, on removing the case once to insert the plug to get a smooth case back, it's possible for the lower case clips to hold so tenaciously that it can actually pull the outer rim of the keyboard away from the phone. I saw some electrical connectors inside the gap that had opened. I got the case off and pushed the keyboard rim back together, and everything works, but I didn't want any more of that, so decided to remove both cases permanently and seek a better option, which is why I'm here now.

It's way-too-strong clip-on design and it's wide-open screen with no protection whatsoever make the BodyGlove case for the Droid an accident waiting to happen, IMO.

Now that the Droid is out in the wild, please help us build a detailed FAQ of Droid Case reviews! Let us know what you went with, why, what you like/dislike, cost, etc..

Thanks!
Dan
I purchased the Body Glove. Feels good in my hands and fits well on the Droid. However, extremely hard to get the back cover off in order to remove battery. I chose to use the "Rooster" as my alaram clock. It went off at 5:00 a.m. in the morning and my Droid froze up, and the only way I could stop it from going off was to remove the battery. It took me 3-minutes of continuous pulling and twisting before I could get the cover of the Body Glove off. Periodically my Droid does freeze up and I have to remove the battery, which means the top of the Body Glove is now fitting more like a rubber band on one side :-(. Other than these couple of things, I like it.

Thanks, this gave me a laugh....I can visualize it perfectly and I don't think my droid would have survived that encounter. I used the alarm for the first time yesterday and found it to be confusing to turn off, especially in that daze of only being awake for 2 seconds. I guess this could be a good thing...No use in hitting snooze if it takes you 3 minutes to turn off the alarm.

I've seen a lot of feedback on the Sena Elega and the Sena Kutu, but has anyone tried out the Sena Ultraslim? It's the cheapest of the three, probably a lot thinner but I've never touched any of them so I wouldn't actually know.

I don't think it will fit.

While at the Apple store, I tried out a Sena case for the iPhone, and it wouldn't fit. The reason is, the side was tappered, just as the iPhone itself has a tappered edge. The Droid, after much trying, simply would NOT go in!

Then tried an untappered, Sena vertical pouch (the Kutu case), and it fit like it was made for it (well, it sticks out just barely... I mean, you almost have to look for it to see that the top is just barely sticking out of the top of the case) and fit very snuggly.

I'd be very surprised if this case worked for the Droid.

Anyone seen or tried a case that is swivel clip, no flap, allows easy grabbing of the Droid? Don't know if they have a name for that type, but I always carry it on my belt, and need it to swivel. Don't like flaps (I have a Verizon flapped one now, it works OK, but I don't like it). I was thinking somethings along the lines of this, but maybe in leather.

Yes, but a leather exterior.

What would be really kewl would be a dark, brown weathered leather exterior, I mean, while I am dreaming :)

Here's a quick rundown of two slipcases I've tried for the Motorola DROID.

This first one I bought at BestBuy for about $15, a Lowepro device pouch.

It works OK, its well padded but as you can see it has a flat oval bottom which adds a ton of extra bulk. Overall I don't like it much so after a few recommendations I bought this next one:

G1 OEM case. Purchased on Ebay from global_dl (OEM PLANET) for $3.95 with free shipping! NEW OEM T-Mobile HTC G1 Google Phone Pocket Case Pouch - eBay (item 110455540978 end time Dec-08-09 21:05:32 PST)

I have to say its freaking awesome, best bang for the buck for sure. Check out how well it fits.

I put the DROID in screen down to make use of the wider part of the case and I feel its safer in my pocket than the glass facing out anyway. The G1 case doesn't add a lot of bulk as you can see and it seems to have enough padding to prevent the glass from cracking during a reasonable drop. Partially open sides make it really easy to grab the DROID to pull it out and an added bonus is that they allow for the DROID to be hooked up to a charger.

Thanks to anyone who suggested this case before, I'm very happy with it. :icon_ banana: :icon_ banana: :icon_ banana:

Just got back from the apple store myself. I tried out the Sena Kutu, UltraSlim, and the Corsa. All of them were way too snug for my liking. I couldn't even get the droid into the Corsa. I'm just going to wait for Sena to release "official" droid cases. I can see why Sena hasn't labeled the current iPhone cases as droid cases, they would be getting a lot of negative feedback because they don't fit quite right. Sure they "work" but it's not top quality.

I'd also really like to see a case with a magnet in it so app developers can get creative with it. I loved having my blackberry on vibrate in the case, and regular volume out of it. Probably one of the only things I miss from the blackberry. It's totally possible with the droid, just tricky since the case manufacturers would have to collaborate with an app developer.

I use the sena Kutu. Initially it will be a little tight, but after a break in period, it feels like a perfect fit.

Exactly. My Sena Elega was the same way. About 3 days and it was perfect. Not sure they can really do much to make it fit better, other than relabel the box.
