Motorola Droid Case Reviews

I bought the Golla Raft case for my Droid and, honestly, I don't see myself using it. It fits just fine and it's got extra pockets but I think I hate not carrying my phone in my pocket. I also bought a shell and my only complaint is that it doesn't open as smoothly as it did without the case. That said, it looks pretty good.

I got them both from the store at Android Central.

I also bought the Invisible Shield stuff, but I'm returning it after seeing the Droid screen scratch test. This thing doesn't need the shield.

Ebay Pawavenue Case Review - Do Not Buy!

I got the 2 part case from Ebay Pawavenue.

Thumbs Down! First of all unit did not fit the phone. It wouldn't click into place.

The worst aspect was it has sharp edges all around that cut into your hand. This is especially problematic with a phone the size of the Droid. For one handed operation, you need to wedge the phone against your palm for stability with your little fingers while using the thumb for screen interaction. This case cuts into your hand when you do that (never mind the fact that it just makes it feel cheesy). I'm a 200+ pound guy with large hands toughened by decades of labor and tool use. It this annoys me like this, it's really going to be a pain for people with smaller, more delicate hands.

The Droid is a classy piece of high end gear that feels nice in your hand. It deserves a high quality case. I shouldn't have even tried to cut corners here.

Get yourself a good case. Stay away from this junk.

Cheers. :motdroidhoriz:

I need a nice leather or nylon horizontal case with a belt clip to hold my Droid with the 2 piece Verizon case installed. I love the 2 piece protector but not the belt part of it. Anybody have one to recommend?

I'm using the clip holster that VZW sells. I was using the clear plastic case that they offered but I wasn't crazy about it. I like the look and the feel of the phone naked anyway, but for some reason I'm always in the market for a new case.

After reading through most of this thread, I really seem to like the Golla bag but I really don't know why. Looks like it would be rather bulky hanging off my belt.

I don't really carry my phone in my pocket. 1. because I tend to bump into things a lot. And 2. because I carry a lot of things in my pocket usually, I wear dress pants or Khakis to work and things have a habit of slipping out of those pants pockets.

The holster is slim and low profile so it looks ok while I'm in works clothes but I feel like I need more protection.

I am happy with the shell/holster from Verizon store. I use both the multimedia dock at night and the vehicle mount while driving. It is very easy to pop the back off the shell when I mount it although it would have been nice for Motorola to make the mounts more versatile. The shell protects the phone very well while I am at work and the clip is very secure.

My cousin walked out of the Verizon store yesterday with a new Droid (due to my convincing lol) and one of VZW's blue snap on cases. I have to be honest, I really liked the way it looked. I might have to pick one up just for the times when I put it in my pocket.

I picked one up...put it on, and returned it just as quickly. Not sure if it is a known issue, however, mine seemed to bind when trying to open the keyboard. In addition, if you use any of the cradles, they do NOT come off that easy.

Good point. It does look like it might stick a bit, and I'd be concerned about the slider getting loose over long term use of that case. I do use the keyboard a lot.

Golla cases. I slides in just fine. Not a perfect fit since the droid sticks out just a little and it is snug. But it works great. I know I wont lose it.

The case i got from Verizon scratched where it says Verizon on the face of the phone, it runs all the way down that ledge.

Ouch that sucks. I'll probably look into a leather pocket case or maybe one of those golla cases then in case I want a little more protection than just the holster and the naked phone.

i got the body glove case today. its fits well.

do be forewarned its a little thick adding about a quarter inch to the width of the phone. this is great for me as I have very large hands so the slight size addition plus the grip makes this a great case for me.
