Motorola Droid Case Reviews

Just got the snap on cover made by Luxmo, from PawAvenue on eBay. The back cover fits snug and is easily removed. I cant get the front/screen cover to stay on. It snaps off if I even look at it funny. Guess I'll just have to try something else, at least for the front. Maybe some double stick scotch tape... Hate to do that. The cover looks nice though!!

Body Glove Case

Hi there,
Have tried the leather pouch - worked fine except that I was annoyed that the opening on the side would not fit the charger. Might as well make it fit if you're gonna put a hole there. I have also tried the body glove case and noticed that it put a little scratch on my phone body - when I open the keyboard horizontally its noticeable. Am returning it tomorrow to get the leather pouch until something nicer comes out. Otherwise the holster worked great, and I really liked the feel. All holes are appropriately cut including the camera & Flash but it is too bulky of course to fit into the dock. Is REALLY REALLY difficult to get off...

Holster Case by Just Wireless.

Found an option for those of you looking for a sleeve type holder to put your Droid in. It's a "Just Wireless" brand generic cell phone holder that I found at Target today for $15.

SKU: 12295
Barcode: 7 05954 12295 1 (I don't think you need the 7 or the 1)

I can say the case is pretty snug after just having bought it. Vigorously shaking the phone in the case wouldn't make it come out. A month down the road, who knows.

The case covers the phone pretty well but the corners of the phone do stick out a little. It's not going to provide perfect fall protection, but should keep the screen intact. What phone over a month old doesn't have scratched corners?

The belt clip does swivel so you could have the phone in a horizontal or vertical position. The material feels similar to leather and slightly padded but does not look like leather (which I appreciate). It's basically two leather pieces (front and back) with elastic bands connecting the 2 pieces on the sides and bottom. The interior of the case feels like felt.

I'll try to post pros/cons later after I get some use.

What everyone wants, pictures:

I'm using an HTC leather case and it is GREAT!! Room to spare with out being too loose, completely protects the phone and has a belt clip. :icon_ banana:

I'm getting the following case that was posted here - black rubberized hard case for the Motorola Droid

BLACK Rubberized Phone Cover Hard Case Motorola Droid - eBay (item 260509727978 end time Dec-19-09 21:26:13 PST)

I'm getting it from an Ebay store, Pawavenue, buy it now. Today Pawavenue emailed me, apologizing for the delay over Thanksgiving. Pawavenue then told me that some people had complained that the front cover on the old case got loose. He (or she, don't know) checked it out, and it was loose. They are sending me a case that's a little bit different (more cutouts) but the front cover is on more securely. I got a new picture of the case and it looks fine to me. I'm supposed to let them know if that's not OK -- they can send me the other case, but they prefer not to. It's fine by me if I get a case where the front cover is more secure.

Oh yeah - the case went out - free shipping too, and they are adding a free screen protector.

For a $10.00 case, I think that's charming.

And no, I still don't have my Droid yet, just planning ahead (!) - maybe next week.

Got the VZW black silicon cover. The front fits perfectly but you have to put it on in a certain way so that the tab will not go across the physical keyboard. (not a big problem for me I never use my physical keyboard at all) The front snaps on perfectly but the back isn't on a nicely as I want it. I tried screwing around with it but it's still not perfect. I already had tech armor install all over my phone but wanted extra protection. Accidently removed a section of the tech armor (peeled off) while trying to get the back cover to snap on. Looks like it will protect the Droid well but attracts dust easily. I had to use an air can to clean it up. Paid about 17 bucks with it including tax... I am not sure if I like it or not but will use it for the time being until something else better comes. I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!

Vertical flip Leather Case

Check out the new vertical flip leather case from PDAir - has anyone got this one yet?

I wonder how much the plastic cover over the keyboard interferes with using the keys?

Now that the Droid is out in the wild, please help us build a detailed FAQ of Droid Case reviews! Let us know what you went with, why, what you like/dislike, cost, etc..

Thanks!

I purchased the Body Glove. Feels good in my hands and fits well on the Droid. However, extremely hard to get the back cover off in order to remove battery. I chose to use the "Rooster" as my alaram clock. It went off at 5:00 a.m. in the morning and my Droid froze up, and the only way I could stop it from going off was to remove the battery. It took me 3-minutes of continuous pulling and twisting before I could get the cover of the Body Glove off. Periodically my Droid does freeze up and I have to remove the battery, which means the top of the Body Glove is now fitting more like a rubber band on one side :-(. Other than these couple of things, I like it.

I wonder if someone that has a Body Glove could comment on the case openings in the back. When I looked at one picture of it:

it kind of looks like the Camera LEDs for "flash" might be covered up.

The Body Glove site doesn't seem to have a "back" picture:

Body Glove | Store

although I do notice, they're ship date is out at 12/4, so the demand must be pretty good.

I have 2 body gloves for the Droid. I think its an awesome case. The one on my droid, has the belt clip off, with the cut out piece installed in the back, for a flush back, my son has the belt clip piece in place, and he loves his that way. I got both of these at the verizon store, the flash definitely isn't covered, and this case definitely doesn't impede using the manual keyboard at all. The pic you have displayed is not the phone cases i purchased.

*** EDIT ***
There is also a cut out on the back for the speaker, the one in your pic doesn't have the cutout.

This is what mine looks like;

Motorola Droid Body Glove Snap-On Case with Removable Belt Clip - Original (OEM) 9130801

Body Glove Snap On Case for Motorola Droid - Android Hard Cases - Android and Me

I like this case very much. Although i have been watching the seidio forum cause that one looks pretty sweet too. For now i'm sticking with my glove.

When i got my Driod at verizon, they always want you to buy accessories, and i never had a case for any of my previous phones, so i said no thanks. I did get the screen protectors tho, and after messing up 2 out of 3 because of the air bubbles, i made verizon put it on for me and its pretty good. But for the case i said no thanks because i knew it would make it just too bulky.

Well after having my phone for a few weeks, i thought it may be good to have a case on it just in case i did drop it. So i was looking on ebay and this is what i decided to go with... RUBBERIZED BLACK CASE FOR VERIZON MOTOROLA DROID A855 - eBay (item 350278704759 end time Dec-13-09 06:52:04 PST)

So far, i love it.It covers all corners of the phone, and seems to be very durable. It does feel "rubberized" as advertized which is nice. Also isn't that thick, so it doesn't make it really bulky. The ONLY complaint i have is that it does restrict the sliding of the keyboard some. It doesn't make it stick, but it just takes a little more effort to slide. But for protection, its definitely worth it.

So all in all...i recommend the case!

Looks like Sena finally made a case for the Droid.
I also got my elega, fits nice. I like how a bit sticks out, makes it nice and easy to grab the phone :)

Just got the Shell/Holster combo from Verizon. First off, I can tell you its so much easier to install and remove than the Body Glove its amazing. Yet it does feel just as tight as the Body Glove. I really like this set. It keeps the device slim and also keeps the "industrial" look of it. Stays in the holster very well and feels good. A+ so far.

Well I just looked at another thread about the top right hand corner not fitting correctly. I also have this problem. Didn't notice until I put the phone down and started to use it while it was on the table. Because of the top right corner not clipping on the device fully it wobbles. Hmmm... what to do...
