Motorola Droid Case Reviews

I finally gave up on the poorly fitting cheapo cases from e-bay and the mall kiosks. I put the Verizon one on yesterday after looking at the one a friend had on his. I like it so far. Everything fits well. The slider is a little tight though, but at least now I have a case to protect the whole phone. It probably will rub off the top of the Verizon logo. I'm not really worried about that as much as the big dent I'd get by dropping the phone without the case. It does make using the top row on the keyboard a little harder to use. I think its the best case so far, but just not quite there yet...

Use an Oakley sunglasses case. Available at an Oakley store or Sunglass hut. It is just the right size and protects well. Plus they are cheap.

anyone able to obtain the sena droid case before Christmas? would love to know where!:)

If you're talking about the Ultra Slim leather pouch, I just ordered it in black yesterday, and received an email with notice that it's been shipped, along with a link to track in on UPS...

Maybe other colors are backordered, but black seems to be available, if this is the case you're asking about.

Hi... This is what I have learned from my research on cases for my Motorola Droid: VERIZON GELL case is durable, but heavy, bulky, muffles your voice and the clips get bent when you take it on and off. BODY GLOVE case is slim, lightweight, beautiful, does not muffle your voice, but gets easily nicked up. Any case with a MAGNETIC CLOSURE will mess with your Droid. If money is no object, I recommend Nutshell Leather Cases (handmade custom leather pouches) from New Zealand. They are rugged, handsome, and you can choose from many options (metal belt clip, detachable shoulder strap, open or closed top, etc) as well as many stunning leather colors. I am thinking about doing the ZAGG full body film for scratches and the Nutshell for bumps. Thanks for all the great info on this blog!! :)

I went through two of the Black Silicon Snap on cases. They kept popping off the same corner of the phone. The Verizon store people said this is a known issue with the black ones, but not the pink ones, as my wife's pink case is fine. I now have the Body Glove and love it, although it's a bit dangerous to get on/off, making sure you don't fracture the phone in two.

Those nutshell cases look really nice. A bit pricey though.

Zagg? Case-Mate Armor?

I have the body glove case and think it's great for protection, but it's huge and you can use it with any of the docks. It's also particularly difficult to remove if you need to pull your battery for any reason.

I am interested in the Zagg or Case-Mate Armor, but can't find any good reviews about them for the Droid. Do they cover the sides at all?

I have to warn you about the Nutshell cases; at least their metal clip on their holsters. I bought one for my Alias 2 several months ago and thought it was great until the metal(stainless steel) opened up a month ago , allowing the holster to fall off of my belt.

I emailed them about that and have never heard from them....

I got a Rugged Equipment holster to replace my NS holster.

ZAGG has Invisible Shield for the screen and decorative skins you apply to the rest of the body. Check out YouTube for more info.

After reading through most of this thread, I really seem to like the Golla bag but I really don't know why. Looks like it would be rather bulky hanging off my belt.

I have a Golla sack that I used when I had my Palm Pre. I find it works and looks great with my DROID! At first it was not wanting to velcro all the way do to the size of the DROID but after about a week it had stretched and now fits perfectly! Mine has a zipper in back that I stash my headphones in and an additional pocket in front for a screen wipe. It comes with a lanyard if you prefer to wear it around your neck a belt loop for your hip and a silver hanging clip if you want to attach it to a back pack or briefcase or if you just don't wear belts! Highly recommended!!!

Too many pages to read so excuse me if I repeat observations:
picked up a CoatCase at the local Verizon store (GoWireless in La Jolla). Slid case but the keyboard is rendered unusable since the top row is too close to the case. The keyboard is not good to start with and one may ask why bother at all. For me it is useful to write text in other languages since there is no automatic replacement, which in turn is very useful for English.
Is the Seidio going to give me the same problem? returns online are such a hassle if I don't like it.
Thanks,
Adil
