Moto's Bionic is Dead?

ok guys let's talk about this and the rumors............

the Bionic is a cancelled device as far as I know but that doesn't mean it won't make the market either. Simply puy think the Thunderbolt and the mess that it creates. Nothing mroe from me on this than that. If or when I hear it's back on I will post again. as of last week it was cancelled and the development went towards the targa

Can you clarify that sentence, please?

Remeber the Bolt had a different name ( think HD) and was 3G only... now look at it and final hardware and the delays and the awful battery life and the lte data issues.... just saying the Bionic had some of those issues

Also remeber the Atrix is slated for VZW Q4 and is a very close device to the Bionic.... why would 2 devies be needed ?

Well for all those still on the OG Droid (like myself since it's rls date) and eagerly needing an upgrade. Do what I'm going to do this weekend. Get the freaking TB and return it within the 30 day mark. By then we will have more reliable news regarding the Bionic. I have been patiently waiting for vzw to announce their forthcoming droid devices while being aggravated with my cracked screen for the last 30 dAys.

Please keep in mind the 30 day mark is no longer accurate for returns. It is a 14 day return window. Don't get something with the wrong return period in mind.

I knew something was up. There's no way the Bionic, X2, and D3 would all come so close to one another. Since we know the Charge will be next, it will be at least late may/june/or July before we see another 4g device. And even then the Revolution may be next. There's a reason Verizon gave the Samsung device the Droid branding (the first time they have done so), and its because they need a 4g "Droid" on the market and the Bionic will take too long. But whatever happens, we WILL see a Droid Bionic sooner or later. Whether its the so-called "Targa", the Droid Bionic showcased at CES, or something else alltogether is what remains to be seen.

Um if it stays cancelled. No you wont see a Bionic hit the market. Also the samsung was scheduled the whole time. the Bionic was set to be thier first dual core LTE enabled device. we will see where that goes now but.....

Good looking out.

Nada problem. I don't wat to see anyone getting into a device they aren't going to be happy with. I think the TB is a great device, especially once rooted, but sounds like your heart isn't completely in it. So I really don't want to see you waste your upgrade and money when you could be happier with something else.

I hate verizon... :/

The Droid X2 looks awesome spec wise (besides 3g...), but there's barely 4g in my area, so maybe it won't be awful.

Don't feel bad. I'm not ecstatic with Verizon right now either, but I'm not going anywhere. The coverage is simply too good. And I'm afraid they know that all too well.

The Droid Charge is basically a bust, right? Also, I have a horrible 'dumb' phone that has verizon 3g, but is very slow. Will the 3g be faster on a phone that is actually made for internet use?

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread

Actually, I don't have any complaints about my Incredible on 3G at all. Can actually stream Youtube and tether nicely. It's not LTE, but it really isn't bad at all.

It coverage is just THAT good, isn't it?

The other day I was trying to show something on the android market to my friend on his EVO. We were on the first floor of a second floor building and his phone could barely pull up one bar. I pull out my Droid X and it's fluttering between 3 and 4 the entire time!

It's the leash that keeps you tied down but it's definitely the best of what's around.

Unfortunately, it really is for me. I've got some very specific areas I'm in and routes I take. I had an AT&T work phone for awhile that I carried alongside my Verizon personal. I can't count the number of times I had to finish a call from my personal Verizon that the AT&T wouldn't pick up a signal.

I know it isn't like that for every carrier everywhere, but that's unfortunately my situation.

I've been waiting for the motorola dual core phone since the CEO said it will arrive by the end of the year (2010). This was said back in Aug 2010.
