Mysterious Device Now With November 23 Launch date

Not open for further replies.
So verizon's going to begin pre-orders on friday for a phone with no concrete specs, not to mention the rest of the world whom doesn't even know of it's existence. I'd like to give verizon a little more credit than that. This will be a good one!

You are using logic- STOP! :icon_eek: ;)

Let the true believers eat their crow on Friday and enjoy it. People will be even more frothing then, so any "I TOLD YOU" posts would be a bad idea..... :)

in store verizon employees know nothing and they don't care. i knew about the original incredible weeks before the manager of the local verizon did here where i live. even if they did know they probably wouldn't say anything. people shouldn't believe what verizon is telling them because some people are being told yes inc hd on friday others are being told no never heard of it, one guy was told it will be the droid desire hd? so that tells you right there they don't know anything or aren't talking. we will all just have to keep speculating and arguing until we here something about the presale or until friday then it will either happen or not. i am optomistic myself, the original inc had more leaks and stuff yes but that doesn't mean this one isn't real or the pre-sale isn't going to happen. there is quite a bit of buzz going on, it can't all be bs. but thats just my take...

First, I've never said I want him to be wrong, and I'm not doubting his reputation, so take it is easy. I actually want him to be right becuase I want to replace my Incredible and wasn't happy with the Fascinate or X that I owned briefly.

I've been on this forum for a year and owned the OG the day before it officially came out and bought it at Walmart. I've also been a member at Howardforums since 2001, so yes, I've been around and seen a lot of phone releases. It's because of my past experiences, which there have been many, that leads me to believe this won't be happening soon.

Too many people, and it seems including you, aren't looking at this rationally. New phone releases have leaks, documents, verification processes, FCC filings, people who loose the prototypes at bars, post pics from reps who have the phone, etc. Where is any of that evidence? There isn't any.

I was around for the original Incredible release on Androidforums. People had confirmed with reps that it would be announced at the same time the EVO was, and guess what, it wasn't announced. The boards got ugly because so many people wanted that phone to come out, and when it didn't people went crazy. I think the people here are different, but because of posts like yours, accusing those of us who haven't drank the kool-aid of not wanting the phone to come out soon is stupid and derisive. Some of us here seem to be based more in reality than others.

To be clear, I am far from being derisive or antagonizing with my posts. And the tone of your posts does give the intention of wanting to prove him wrong. If that isn't the case, then I'm sorry.

As far as not being grounded in reality about this, Verizon has already made two surprise moves this week with releases that caught people off guard. That is why I have my reason to believe Miami. That, and the fact that he has actually seen the preproduction unit.

As far as saying my posts are the reason these threads get ugly, really? You may want to look at my history on here compared to others.

I'm sorry too, just doesn't seem like a lot of evidence out there, and for the announcements this week, you're right that we didn't know the D2WE would go on sale, but we already knew most everything about the phone including what it looked like. I don't want to sound like a broken record so I'll stop posting and just keep my fingers crossed that it shows up on Friday.

The one big difference to the Inc HD being no pics or any substantial leaks. Not really apples to apples, but less than 48 hours for the answer :)

Who knows? Perhaps a December release, before the Apples start falling and cluttering our network.

Why can't we all just be happy to know that as of now we will be able to pre-order the phone on the 12th? If for some reason it doesn't appear on Verizon’s web site, than i can see why some of you will be so negative. But till we hear different from Miami, the 12th is still on.

Bad rapper, but good perspective ;) I hope Miami IS correct, since that would mean a good source for future early scoop :)

I had to fix other issues with my account, but I just got off the phone with Verizon and the customer service rep looked up the Droid Incredible HD in the system and said that it won't be available for pre-order until Friday.
That is funny because i went to the Verizon store not far from my office to get a case for my wife's phone. When I asked them about a pre-order coming this Friday about the HTC Incredible HD they never heard of the phone. So I asked the guy how long do you guys get the phone before it is to be released. He said that they get a sample of the phone 3 weeks to a month before the phone is released... he told me the same thing the guy in my vanpool told me. Although I hate to say it I do not think this phone will be released this month maybe next month or the 1stQ of next year... I can't see the people at Verizon being so hush hush about a phone that will put them against the Sprint Evo 4G...

Well I have a brother and sister in law who work for verizon who didn't know about the pro until the day before and one is a regional manager of inventory cmon if anyone would know our world be her. So what I'm saying is that them not having it doesn't mean anything

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums App

I don't know about the guy in the store but the guy in my vanpool had the Droid X before it was announced last year. I saw him using it and I ask him about it. He could not tell me the name at the time but I knew it was a Motorola phone from the symbol. So I believe him when he tells me that he has not seen the phone except for the articles and pictures I printed from my computer to show him.

Whatever happens on Friday (LESS than 48 hours from now!) Please don't blow a gasket on this thread.

If we get it, well, yea!!!, if not? Well, based on the evidence, wouldn't that make sense too?

If you can preorder: do it, or go to the new thread and ask questions. If not, no need to come here and gloat? Because wouldn't you rather be wrong, so what is the point of that? Just come back to this thread to speculate and have more civil discussions...

I agree with you!!! I just hope that people won't start attacking this thread or forum... Don't get me wrong I am hoping that the guy in my vanpool is wrong also and the phone is released this month...

I was told yesterday, on the phone by a rep that pre-orders start Friday for the DInc HD.... however found I because of some technicalities with my billing, I could not upgrade until Jan.

Wrote a letter via Verizon's website... my upgrade date has been changed to make me eligible for my upgrade as of Friday the 12th, so that I can pre-order the NEW Droid Incredible... so the E-mail says :)

I'm hoping it all pans out as well.... don't see how I got lucky enough to speak with two people who have a clue... or at least an idea of what's coming.

*fingers crossed. toes would be too but dang that's difficult!*

One reason why the stores might not know about or received dummy display devices is that the in store launch could still be two weeks away. They might get their dummy devices and intel on it the same day it goes for sale online...this Friday.

Still holding out hope that we see this on Friday available to order...but until we see pictures and confirmation from Miami or the phone show up on VZW's site...I am still skeptical.

It's just funny miami post something at night everyone is cool then in the am it turns into is not happening, he's wrong, etc just funny watching this everyday

Two people who knew about it and an email referencing it? Could it be? That is a lot of evidence that someone besides Miami knows about this. Care to share the email?
