It's a done deal, shipping in January.

Verizon will clear out the stores for iPhone, I imagine there being BOGA for pretty much ALL the android devices this winter. Brand new or not....

Apple's using their hard won position as the maker of the #1 phone in America to bully Verizon into giving them as soft a landing as possible. Nothing wrong with that.

Verizon is testing the Apple supply chain waters with the iPad, so it does not take much to conlclude (with VZW corp rep even admitting) VZW is preparing for the iPhone and with iPad, they have now integrated Apple as a channle partner. January may be too early, but Q1 is the assumption by most VZW folks. Of course "assume" is a beeuch' as an acronym

All things constant, a January iPhone is FAR more likely than a 11/12 preorder for Inc HD Inc HD 11/12 PO = 10% and iPhone Jan 11 = 60%

If you go to the main page of Droidforums.net you'll see a new post about the Droid 2 Global Edition. There's this little bit in the article:

Motorola has just released a new video introducing the Motorola Droid 2. This device just kinda came out of nowhere. We still have yet to receive an official press release from VZW annoucing the phone, however yesterday the D2 Global appeared on VerizonWireless.com available to order.

Kinda interesting that the DInc HD is going through the same process as the D2GE and the Droid Pro, just a little quieter. Something to consider...

Its not that I care too much, because if this thing does not come by the 12th or 23rd, I will 100% move on with my life. I just find this to be sort of like detective work and unsolved mystery's. I find it fascinating to watch it unfold. It's like the ultimate puzzle.

I may not even get this phone. I probably will, I just need to have some things confirmed. And even still, my DROID 1 works great (I am just tired of being limited by a lack of space for the apps I want). For those who don't even have an Android based phone, I can completely understand getting worked up over it. As long as no gasket is blown if disappointment is eminent.

It seems the corporate stores would be the place to ask. I doubt they'd admit anything.


I do find it odd that some in this thread are reporting that they have gotten indications from customer service on the PHONE that this exists. Outside of Miami's word, this is the ONLY other evidence that this might come to fruition.

I guess the good news is that we haven't yet heard that about the Droid INC HD. Hopefully Miami will chime in and clear some things up for us.

Another thing to think about is the Droid2 Global would represent serious competition for the Merge - where as the DINC HD would for the most part be without any new competition at Verizon. WHo knows, maybe HTC has been trying to decide what phone they wanted to push back for the LTE route.

But didn't they (VZW) give away some Merge devices a weeks or so ago? So some did get produced with 3G radios. Who knows. All this speculation is crazy.

Again - I hope Miami can clear some things up for us.
